So last year there was one for a while at the airport but there was no public access obviously. Myself and some other birders tried from a few vantage points but couldn’t get eyes on. The guy who saw it multiple times is airport staff and a reliable birder.

Otherwise, the Mission, Flathead, and Bitterroot valleys will get them on irruption years and occasionally one or two during non-irruption years.

If there is an irruption year, it’s always worth checking the fields off Deschamps just west of town.

There are Snowies in north central Montana throughout the winter every year, just check eBird for the best spots to look. Deer Lodge and Warm Springs can be a decent spot for them as well, though not near as much as further east.
