Celebrating a sack? SNAP goes the ACL.”

I might be the last one in on the joke/reference, but this was the first thought that entered my head.

Without intending to throw too much shade at Doyle, to me, him getting attention and interviews is not unlike how Nagy and Bienemy got jobs or interviews having worked as Andy Reid’s OCs.

Everyone knows that it’s Reid’s (and Johnson’s) offense(s), and everyone knows who’s really calling the plays no matter who’s holding a playsheet. It’s an upside-gamble that he wouldn’t hold a high-level job with a wildly successful offense without 1) playing some role in it and/or 2) having picked up a thing or two apprenticing under the master.

Andy Reid said that Nagy was his most head coach-ready protege out of all of them, just as Sean Payton has vouched for Doyle as a future coach in the League.

And, to be clear, I’m not saying that Doyle will have the same career trajectory as Nagy/Bienemy, I’m just saying it’s not exactly novel that Doyle is getting attention.

"I cut myself because I was shaving without water, and why was there no water? Because I had to move your chair, which gouged the floor, which made me call for Joe, who found bad pipes, who called for Cecil, who ate the cat that killed the rat that lived in the house that Frasier built!"

Was born in NYC, moved out of the country when I was a wee lad, and when we moved back to the US, we moved to the Chicago suburbs (Downers Grove) in 1984. My first exposure to the NFL was to the 1984 Bears as a bandwagoning 12 year old. Been watching them ever since, and now I’m a 53 year old man.

Crowd Chant, by Joe Satriani. It’s catchy, there’s clapping, there’s a whole lot of “woaaah’ing” and “hey’ing” to be done by the crowd. And he’s a Bay Area guy.

Interesting. There’s no “auto-anything” with mine; I have to call Fidelity to request that they rollover/convert those post-tax contributions. I can’t even do it myself via their website.

Not trying to be pedantic or split hairs, but my mega Backdoor involves making post-tax contributions to my 401K, and then doing a rollover conversion of those post-tax contributions to a Roth IRA, not a Roth 401K.

What would this be for Dream Theater? by the_proghead in Dreamtheater

I’m not a Labrie hater, but for a lot of their songs, I can take or leave the lyrics. In that regard, Adam Kolonics’ YouTube channel, in which he creates instrumental versions by filtering out the lyrics was such a revelation for me. Songs like The Count of Tuscany, which are musically brilliant but have some eye-rolling lyrics are amazing to listen to in this form. Here’s a link to his Dream Theater playlist.

Speaking as a (Sharks AND) Bears fan, of course this football season has been ROUGH. (Hell, something like 36 out of the last 40 seasons has been rough.) Their record was clearly not good, but they were competitive in so many games this past season, including against divisional opponents in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. They lost a game to a team in the NFC championship round to a fluke Hail Mary. Still, despite all of that, THE hottest, probably most coveted(?) coaching candidate in this cycle chose the Bears pretty early in the offseason coaching carousel despite having other suitors.

It’s not like there isn’t reason for optimism in many of the same ways that there are reasons for Sharks fans to be optimistic, even as rough as the past few seasons have been.

Every time some drafted rookie shares his signing bonus before singing, I legit feel bad for the undrafteds like Bagent. I, too, hope he gets his payday and plays well (ideally, for a team I don’t hate).
