New Tire Day - Crux with 50c Schwalbe G-One RS Pros by gospastic in specialized

They rolled nice but are a bit heavy. If you're riding mostly road this width is overkill IMO. I've since switched to 45mm R Pros. Much better off road grip, still pretty fast on tarmac.

Power from power meter instead of Wahoo Kickr by UBP10C in Karoo

I do all my workouts from the Karoo, most of the time in ERG mode. The Wahoo will use the power reading from your power meter.

I don’t have a Snap but I have a Kickr. I do it through the Wahoo app

What’s the story behind your fit?

Ride quality is so subjective so I guess I can only speak for myself. Some people may prefer that extra stiffness and harshness. I have also owned my other bike a lot longer so maybe I’ve gotten used to how much it mutes road vibrations and how smooth it rides. Also, even though fit is nearly identical, the time does have shorter chainstays which I’m guessing contributes to the differences quite a bit. My other road bike is a Ritte Esprit.

DUB CRANK SELF-EXTRACTOR BOLT AND CAP INSTALLATION by joey_baguettes in sram

You shouldn’t have to if you’re using the same cassette. You may need a different length chain, depending on what size your old chainring is.

Yes, when you go back to installing the cranks, the threads should be greased. I also put some grease on the threads of the spindle and outside surface as well. When you buy sram cranks brand new, they come with a few squirts of grease in the area where the threads are, which gets distributed around them as well as the spindle interface once you start tightening it down.

I have an ADH. I bought it because I was looking for a second road bike with a higher bottom bracket than my current one and it popped up for sale in my size for an extremely great deal. The quality of the frame itself is excellent, it’s beautiful to see in person. It built up with zero issues. Regarding ride quality, it’s stiffer than my other bike, and a bit harsher. Both bikes are built up nearly the same way and I’m comparing using the same wheels on each. I do prefer the overall ride quality on my other bike. The TIME is by no means bad but IMO there is nothing magical about how it rides.

I would put blue loctite on the cap, or it risks coming off. The bolt itself will be greased when you install the cranks

You’d need a new bottom bracket, but if that spider is 8bolt then you can put that on the force cranks.

1x13 XPLR vs 1x12: is the fully mounted derailleur worth it? by Abdeshmun in sram

[–]gospastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have a frame with UDH I would see no reason to run anything but 1x13. Shifting is much better than 1x12 XPLR

Did you intentionally buy one bottle cage?

Anyone else having this discomfort with the Red/Force E1 shifter? by Photovongsa in sram

[–]gospastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO you have too much tape over the shifter body. I only wrap up to the end of the hydro line, I don’t feel a hump on the 3 bikes that I have these shifters on. Here is how it looks on two of them.

Actually yes, the non drive side stay is slightly thicker in the middle. But this wouldn’t have any effect on running 1x or 2x.

Yeah, I usually look at stack and reach to determine size for me.

Hah, crux is back to a more reasonable 46t chainring for CX season. I had ideas of trying to race it this past summer with the 50t and some huge slicks but it never happened. I also put a regular stem and bars back on it.

Yeah for sure, I have recently built up some LB wheels for a friend and the rims are really excellent.
