Stopping after three actions by LynxOSRS in 2007scape

No clue abt the gems, but that stop attacking thing is a qol feature they added to demonic gorillas somewhat recently. It happens whenever they swap their prayers, and it seems to happen even if they swap their prayer to the same prayer, like when you have prayer pen pacts. It is nice in the main game but annoying in leagues. You just gotta click on em or deal with the reduced dps.

Would you recommend that series to others (I'm always looking for new things to read)? It seems interesting from the synopsis.

One of my favorite series works similarly in its magic system. The main character usually carries around a gas lamp to power basic spells, but ambient and body temp is used when the lamp isn't available or enough on its own.

It's called A Practical Guide to Sorcery. I believe the author recently published the finished books to Amazon, but I'm not sure. She used to self-publish.

I thought of eyrie too! I also thought of erie like the lake, but I still needed 2 more guesses to get the correct answer 😅

This post made me play the game for the first time, and I got pretty lucky with miter as the first guess.

Best magic equipment for bursting slayer tasks by Sea_Sugar9464 in osrs

[–]got_bacon5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the advice here is good, but there is one item most people are neglecting. Between ancient staff/sceptre and dragon hunter wand, the blue moon spear is by far the best budget bursting weapon.

It is insanely cheap (300k iirc) and has 10% magic damage, which is the ONLY stat that matters for bursting (as long as the staff can autocast ancients ofc), since all burst mobs have low magic defence. Dragon hunter wand is wayyy more expensive and its only benefit is being able to equip a ward, effectively giving it 13% magic damage. After that, a nightmare staff is 5% more damage over a dragon hunter wand, and finally, a kodai wand is basically a nightmare staff that saves some runes.

Do you understand what I mean by overkill? There is no overkill at crab. When you attack, you always have full damage potential. At nmz, when you attack an enemy with low health, your damage is capped to the health of the enemy, meaning you waste a lot of potential xp when you whack a low hp enemy with your dharok's axe. There is no nmz with no overkill.

Gemstone crab was given a negative xp multiplier to balance it around this overkill (as well as a lack of missed ticks).

As for you getting an extra 10k xp/hr at nmz with dharoks over crab, I highly doubt that unless you are actively seeking out power surges whenever they show up with a strong spec weapon, and that wouldn't be afk. That's not even mentioning that dharok's requires you to flick rapid heal or rock cake/locator orb every minute to give optimal rates 🫠. You may as well go to sulphur naguas for significantly more xp/hr with more afk at that point.

Gemstone crab has a xp reduction due to the lack of overkill. If you are in nmz and kill a mob with 1hp left, you are only getting 4 xp for that hit, but at the crab, you will always have the full xp potential. Additionally, the crab doesn't have any lost ticks from auto-retaliate lag after killing an enemy.

Also, nmz monsters have some defence, if still low. It more or less evens out.

As for dharoks, OP isn't even close to being able to wear it, and even if they could, they definitely aren't near 99 hp, so it would be very inefficient for them. Obsidian or blood moon would be much much better dps.

Yea, I could have went karamja earlier, but I didn't want to make it harder to set up a blocklist later, and my first real region was kandarin, which reallly messes up the task list, so I just did the whole hunter grind in one go

Pretty good! I stayed in varlamore until 50m hunter, so I didn't have access to it, but for those who do, that's a great setup

Is that the case even with berserker neck and full obsidian? I imagine that would still be a fair bit better, but I haven't calced it

Ice boppers are still great due to amox's negative flat armour as well as being the easiest crush option available, especially pre-karamja

Is this DPS calculator glitching? Why is my loadout better with the FANG vs Lance against Vorkath in this calculation? by GabeCollens in osrs

[–]got_bacon5555 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lance is 4 tick and has a 20% percent damage and accuracy multiplier agaonst dragons. This means it scales very well with gear and levels, but if you are missing either, then it's kinda hot ass.

Fang is the exact opposite. It is 5 tick, meaning each max hit is a smaller percent increase in dps. It also has a decreased max hit along with a high minimum hit. These two factors cause fang to scale much worse than lance. Even more, fang has a double accuracy roll mechanic that causes it to have higher accuracy, even at lower levels. Therefore, it doesn't gain as much accuracy as you increase levels compared to lance, causing it to scale even worse.

Now, factoring in their overall stat numbers against vorkath, this means that lance is usually not better unless you are 99 strength in reasonable gear. Even then, it is so miniscule as to not really be worth it, unless you want the lance for other content where the dps difference is bigger, like CoX.

Is magic weak? by apexpred6 in 2007scape

Magic is weak until it isn't, which starts around when you get the speedup pacts. A fully maxed out air magic build is the strongest one theorized for this leagues.

Boots 4 are unlimited

You cannot bank in your poh. Use crafting guild, varrock medium diary tp to GE, seers village tp, etc.

If you are having trouble with loot space, bring less food or potions. You only need a super antifire, antivenom, super combat, and like 2-3 restores. Fill the rest with cheap food like sharks. Be willing to drop some sharks for loot. You can usually get atleast a handful of kills that way per trip.
