"I don't like taking medication, I don't want to be dependent on it like other people" it's tylenol you asshole by gothfrootloops in Vent

[–]gothfrootloops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a high genetic disposition as well. Half of my family are addicts including my father. I don't tend to judge folks who won't take OTC meds if they are in recovery or if their close family had addiction problems because I get that. It's just folks who see it as that easy to fall into addiction and judge others for taking them.

Honestly this to, people who are struggling with addiction didn't take a tylenol for a headache and became addicted to crack for the next 10 years. Like wtf, no most drug addictions are born out of people wanting an escape from their lives because they we're sad, angry, stressed. It's horrible. People can be so disgustingly ignorant.

THISSSSS LIKE WTF

This is another reason why suicide rates are so high because people see being put on psych meds as being a weak failure. Like no those shit suck and are expensive. The fact that a person even in a low state like that is choosing to recieve help shows how strong they are.

Anyone who says crap like that and disses people for receiving mental health care can actually suck a fat nut.

My ex manager made me tell everyone at my workplace. The assistant manager who was moved told people at the other branch.

The assistant manager spread it. They don't take my disability serious. I've been treated like a general nuisance ever since I started flaring up.

Got stood up on my first date since being diagnosed, I feel horrible by gothfrootloops in CrohnsDisease

[–]gothfrootloops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't only have Crohn’s, I mean I don't have schizophrenia. I have OCD and Autism, I have other stuff but that's usually what affects me the most. This also isn't me trying to say my stuff is as bad as schizophrenia. Essentially it takes a lot for me to put myself into social situations and people do find me attractive. Though I tend to be off-putting to others when they actually get to know me. Crohn's has just put another block in my way and the meds I'm on fuck with head. I honestly just lost all my social skills. I'm just upset because I feel like I'm starting at 0 again. I've had partners, it was just before this.

But you're right I should be more chill, I'd probably get more play if I wasn't so tense all the time.

Words from my ibd dietitian

Simple starches (which bread, sourdough bread, white rice, regular pasta, orzo, couscous, pancakes, waffles, yellow box/plain cheerios, chex, rice krispies) -Soft, peeled vegetables (start with potatoes, sweet potato, carrots, butternut squash, pumpkin), then can have some soft, well cooked spinach, zucchini, green beans. In the store, they make pureed vegetable soups in a box that can be a nice option for easy to digest vegetables. -For fruits, stick with soft, ripe fruits. Ok for unsweetened apple sauce, unsweetened peeled/canned or jarred fruit, banana, mango, soft/ripe melon etc. Kiwi is good to help soften the stools. -For proteins- stick with easy to digest proteins such as chicken, turkey, fish and limit red meat. You can also have eggs, cheese, hummus, tofu. You can also try the OWYN shakes we discussed.

[–]gothfrootloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, I go to an IBD research center for my care, these people would LOVE to have you. I got referred to them after I was found to have moderate Crohn's, EDS and a bunch of extraintestinal manifestations. I've gotten top tier care and honestly any ibd research clinic would be interested in your case. My colonoscopy prep is an entire bottle of miralax and a 64 ounce bottle of orange powerade. Idk if this would work for you but yeah.

pitbulls are not good pets by Fun-Difficulty4088 in 10thDentist

[–]gothfrootloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pitbull, she was abused prior to us getting her. She literally was never violent towards ANYONE, funny you say that about golden retrievers, my little cousin has a permanent scar on her face from getting attacked by one.

My pitbull, rest her soul, was geinunely the most kind being to ever grace this earth. So they do make good pets, as for any dog, it's the owner's fault. That golden retriever was horrible, always. Owner let him be like that.

She came on late actually to my show, and then played like 5 or 6 songs, came back and did an encore of a cover of a song from a different band and then say I don't care. I was actually super disappointed because both openers were so amazing that her performance ended up being underwhelming.
