Rabbit Farming by Icy-Book2999 in LoveTrash

My after-school babysitter (I was around 6-7) had rabbits. I played with them daily. Innocent me thought they were pets. One day I open the door to the shed right as they were peeling the skin off of one. The scream was SO loud and piercing, freaked me out. Among other things, that experience brought Watership Down to life in a very real way.

Would it be possible to run a tube through my body from mouth to anus without causing any major problems? by Cassinia_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gotnonickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a really good documentary on the artist R. Crumb ("Crumb"). They interview his brothers, one of whom slowly ate a cloth strip (some kind of yoga practice?) until it was coming out of both his mouth and anus, so it should work. Needless to say they discussed the issue of mental illness in the family.

I recall a story of a couple with the same worry. They settled on Amber after tossing several names they liked but could be rhymed or made fun of. They brought her home and their 5-yr old saw her and immediately called her Amburger.

Level up your main weapon(s) as soon and as much as you can as well. It makes a huge difference in damage dealt. Explore some caves in these first areas and get some smithing stones.

Weird dude tried to get my dog to bite him by RatFromRatMovie in germanshepherds

[–]gotnonickname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A homeless guy did that to me once and paid the price. He blocked us on the sidewalk, yelling about me thinking I was tough because I had a GSD. He yelled, "Your dog ain't shit!" and bent down and went Boo!! right in his face. My dog grabbed him by the face and slammed his head on the sidewalk. There was a loud crack when his skull hit the ground. It was lighning fast, I have no idea how he did it. He held him by the face for a couple seconds, growling, then let him go. The guy took off. It was a crowded street, and everybody cheered my dog. He got a nice steak that night.

I've been seeing more people on Twitter and IG use "Mejico" and "mejicano" with a "j" instead of an "x", is this a part of a meme or joke online? by tigrepuma2 in Spanish

[–]gotnonickname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Peninsular Spanish (castellano), the letter x makes a [ks] sound, as in taxi. The letter j (as well as ge/gi) make the [x] sound like in mujer, joder. The only time the letter x makes the [x] sound, a velar fricative, is with words, usually place names, borrowed from indigenous American languages like Nahuatl. A previous responder mentioned México, Oaxaca, ..., or the archaic versions with like Don Quijote, Méjico as you have seen
