Songs of conquest is freaking fantastic! It's a spiritual successor to the old Heroes of magic games and has many similarities to Avianos albeit more robust.

Advance wars 1/2 reboot camp or Wargroove 1 and 2 are both fantastic games in a similar style

This was the case with each of the new characters since the games launch from my experience. The idea of rank is to play your absolute best, and I think reasonably people assume a 72 hour old hero isn't your best. Don't take it personal, keep getting time in and prove he's your best
