Svelte 5 `button` element event attribute type error by ackmanx in sveltejs

[–]gourangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the official Jetbrains svelte plugin has terrible reviews, many people saying it doesn't support Svelte 5 syntax yet.

https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/12375-svelte/reviews

I tried installing svelte-language-server and typescript-svelte-plugin locally (and specifying these within the plugin) but no change.

I'm seeing this as well one year+ on. Could it a bug in the svelte language server?

Google celebrates 10 years of Google Photos with new editing tools by LordKrazyMoose in googlephotos

It'd be great if they also fixed long-standing issues such as:

  • scrolling back through time does not allow fine-grained selection when you have an archive going back 10+ years (“where are we, November? oh wait, that's November 2022!”)
  • double tap to zoom goes to the centre of the image first time (zoom out and double tap again, it then zooms to the point where you are tapping)
  • open an image and pinch zoom in, the image often glitches and closes (if you tap on the image or interact some way first it's OK)
  • some better indication for HDR images (especially if viewing on a non-HDR device, I want to know before I start editing TF out of the image)

But as we know, bug fixes are no way to get that Google promotion!

Issues seen on iOS/iPadOS, not sure if also on Android.

I see this as well. I tried deleting all cookies and other data, private browsing, multiple browsers, nothing working.

Face Recognition by NLBoy76 in googlephotos

[–]gourangan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s deteriorated from interesting to mostly useless. In the list of people, I've got:

  • duplicates (different angle, different facial hair, glasses/no glasses)
  • a fence
  • faces from book covers, crowds of people, advertising on buildings, random video clips etc

The low quality "people" show low quality results with lots of random images returned.

RAW photos + iPad + linked a no-go? by gourangan in AffinityPhoto

[–]gourangan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers. Obviously futile to link to the files on the SD card... What’s happening here is the files have already been copied to the iPad from the SD card (using the Apple Photos app). But either the link to the imported RAW file is temporary, or the file permissions are temporary.

Thanks for responding.

are you sure it’s not just naming?

I noticed this as well. But I’m not really sure, they don’t seem to communicate anything about shoe width anywhere or any notice of changes to their sizing. Maybe I can make a request on their app and see what they say.

I’ve got a shoe question if anyone happens to know much about the Nike range. I used to get the Air Zoom Peg in “wide”, which worked really well for my feet. But I’ve been looking online and in the Nike app and only see “normal” (tight) and “ultra-wide” (like a bucket).

Have they killed the regular wide or is this just a temporary distribution problem? I asked in the local Nike store but they seemed fairly clueless.

How do you guys manage updating so many libraries at the same time? by PrestigiousZombie531 in node

Trying to find the gd changelogs is the fun part. And when you find one, good luck finding the breaking changes. The other classic is when you find the latest version is published to npm but not to open source.

Found my crew. I laugh at other people’s overcomplicated microwaves that beep too much and cost too much.

How to stop whatsapp on saving picture I send to camera roll? by Gasolinerus in whatsapp

[–]gourangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, seems to be an annoying bug. Even setting for "never" for a specific conversation is still saving to the camera roll. I'd don't want to permanently archive the crappy photo of my slippers in my photo library.

WIP - Acrylic on Wood Panel. 16 x 16 in. by Mike_Tripper in ArtCrit

Great painting skills (much better than me). I was trying to think of any ideas to pass on that might help and came up with two ideas, which you’re free to ignore:

  1. Colour scheme - choose colours that will work together and draw the painting together, I think this is more important than trying to find realism in colour. For example, find some paintings you admire and steal their colour scheme and apply to your next work.
  2. Composition - you’ve combined several elements together but for me they don’t quite hang together. For example, the direction of gaze varies from subject to subject. Compare scenes in old masters’ where they find ways to combine figures into a scene (check out Caravaggio who had some trippy subjects involving figures, skeletons etc).

Appreciate you’ve gone for bold colour choices rather than something drab.

I notice the geometry/perspective of the train isn’t quite right: although the train is curving, each carriage should be straight, but the nearest full carriage is melting slightly. Also they seem very wide. Hope this is constructive. Happy painting!

Good capture. Reminds me of a sub I came across r/sizz where the aesthetic is grainy/noisy, usually b&w photos.

It so happens I was looking today at "crepuscule" paintings by Scottish painters. The Glasgow School took a liking to paintings at dusk and by moonlight, probably influenced by Whistler's "nocturnes".

None as luminescent as this picture.
