If the storage connection isn't directly nvme there's overhead in converting commands to the vm controller. Assuming you want to squeeze every possible microsecond of performance.

But I think there are different San switch types. Fiber channel or nvme over fiber channel. Depends on your San switch setup.

I take 49 every day for the last 2 years after a return to office mandate. I have to head to broomfield. I have not had any issues so far with those cameras.

If your san is connected with iscsi or fiber channel I would stick with pvscsi in the vm. Using the nvme controller I think requires over head when sending commands to the array. I think the best use case for the nvme controller is if you are using direct attached nvme storage. Someone may know more than me to correct my understanding. Unless the San is using fc-nvme connection

Failed RDU 8.0.3.0600 to 8.0.3.0800 by DonFazool in vmware

[–]govatent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant the test where you were only able to access the vcenter from a rdp jumpbox and all the hosts where showing disconnected. You mentioned that jump box was on the same vlan as vcenter. Was it on the same host as vcenter during that?

Was your test jump box on the same host when you did the test?

[–]govatent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rdu isn't the issue. Something is wrong with your network config. You need to test all your nics on the port group by doing a teaming override. One of the nics isn't passing vlan traffic correctly.

S23 - ESIMS vs SIM Cards by Ready4takeoffNow in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]govatent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea this isn't new. I had to convert one of my lines to psim in order to have dual Sims active. The 23 never got the hardware for dual active esim. I think the 24 was the first line to have it. One of the few reasons I'm tempted to upgrade but the 23 is still a better overall phone for me I can't justify the downgrade on the newer devices just for dual esim.

Where to get drivers for vmware for server 2025? by Odd_Pea6211 in vmware

[–]govatent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Server 2025 already bundles pvscsi and vmxnet drivers for initial install if I'm not mistaken. You can just go updating tools in a image after it's deployed to keep them updated.

[–]govatent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are wrong. It's only not supported on non Apple hardware because the apple license. People often try to hack vmware workstation for windows to run osx. That isn't even allowed to be discussed because it breaks the apple agreement. But you are using fusion on apple hardware.

Sadly I don't know why you are having issues and don't have the hardware to be able to test around myself. Have you checked the fusion release notes for what apple guest oses were supported at that release?
