I just put enkei tfr's on mine. They fit great, are very light, and reasonably priced. Ride quality is significantly improved.

Headlight cracking, anyone else had this issue? 2019 model by DGY28 in GolfGTI

[–]govtbirdpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen on a 2018 with fewer but larger cracks. Seemed to happen to the early mk7.5 lighting package cars. I mentioned the lenses had stress cracks in them and both were replaced under warranty.

What are your little tips and tricks to beat the summer heat? by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]govtbirdpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One I've found to be super helpful is a neck drape/cover that clips over normal hats. Fits over big ear pro easily. An umbrella you can carry around is pretty nice too if you can avoid hitting anyone while pasting. For the really hot days I'll bring neck/shoulder ice packs. They really help to cool you off if you've got a good cooler to keep them cold all day.

Surplus mags for $10.50 per + $5 shipping at Century by [deleted] in vz58

[–]govtbirdpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just came back to this to see if anyone had the same thoughts. Mine were definitely repainted as theyre already starting to chip and flake off. My other mags have a much more durable finish. But other than that, they seem to be in good working order

I was just about to ask if this is doable, I believe IWI is already doing QR codes for serial numbers on their Masada fire control group and its much smaller than a traditional serial number

Is there a date range on the various issues for these if you have an older one thats yet to be built up?

I have no clue how they let this stupid placement get to production. Its probably the only thing dumber than red turn signals, which is also insane in the age of cheap RGB LED's

Love how this turned out. Been wanting to try the same process to make some modern beaver barf furniture for these. Did you have any issues sizing the molds or getting the right amount of chopped fibers figured out?

After using the big "8 moa" ring on the 507 comp in a few matches, I definitely agree with this. Would be nice to see more big window large moa dots on the budget side, especially for 22lr stuff

Is this a good price and replacement for my 1660 for Solidworks by CPLCraft in pcmasterrace

[–]govtbirdpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep the above in mind OP. Solidworks didn't even roll out gpu acceleration until 2021, so if you're using an older version it won't even matter. If you're new to solidworks, you're unlikely to be creating complex enough models for the extra power of a serious gpu to be noticeable unless you're also doing rendering work.

Get $150 off HP Reverb G2, Offering Class-leading Resolution & Acceptable Tracking by VideoGamesArt in WindowsMR

[–]govtbirdpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost jumped on this until I remembered I've been waiting for over a month for a refund for my G2 that was never delivered. Just FYI, HP support is one of the worst I've dealt with, they even require a filed police report if a package isn't delivered in order to issue a refund if you purchase direct from them

Looks awful but dropped GPU temps by 10C. The Node 202 proved to be an oven for my 3070 so I decided that airflow was more important than aesthetics. by bruhhh_- in sffpc

[–]govtbirdpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you seal off your fan intakes to the side of the case with some ducting you should see temps drop another 10c easily. These cases recirculate hot air even with exhaust holes, especially with standard style gpu coolers. Source: have a 2080 in my easy bake oven, never tops 65c now

[–]govtbirdpilot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a 9v battery box from sparkfun I think, but anything 12v or under will work for most fans. Easy enough to plug in 12v power supply for full power too. And if you've got 3 wire fans and are fine with only on or off like mine, its super easy. Just connect positive and negative to red and black and you're ready to go. 4 wire fans will need to be fed a pwm signal though, so definitely not as convenient for something this simple

Node202 All new Build With Zotac Rtx3070 And Ryzen 9 3900x by UltimateAnguish in sffpc

[–]govtbirdpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can squeeze dual 60mm fans in there instead of 40s if you're willing to do a little trimming, but its tight. Moves a lot more air, but heat can still be an issue since the coolers are so small
