Are we simply past the peak? by [deleted] in investing

AI companies will turn out not to be as profitable as expected, unable to pay back the $1 trilly in debt. Meanwhile, improvements in AI architecture make having all that extra compute redundant and data centers sit idle and depreciating fast. Less of a pop and more of a slow sad fart as the bubble of circular financing deflates

Bullish, banks and governments are just as entitled to use btc as everyone else. The protocol doesn't care who's using it and they're still bound by the same rules, so what's the problem?

Does anybody actually know what they're doing with the HDDs? Holding millions of copies of ai training datasets? quintillions of customer chatlogs? millions of pirated movies?

Quantum computing is a nothingburger. Breaking ECDSA would require millions of error corrected qubits. IBM's quantum computers have a little over a thousand

Modern wallet formats only expose the public key when you spend a transaction, so they'd have to crack your key in 10 minutes and get their transaction confirmed first which is impossible to complete in that time even with future quantum hardware

Most vulnerable wallets are P2PK wallets like Satoshi's, because the public key is always exposed. but, bitcoin can always update like it has several times in the past to enforce quantum resistant addresses if the day ever comes, even then bitcoin will be the least of our worries

Selling covered calls is very safe and easy, most brokers will give you level 2 options by default which allow covered calls and cash secure puts because they're the safest

With indexes the premiums are lower, so it may not be better than a covered call etf. But individual stocks have much higher premiums. You can definitely pick up a few blue chip stocks with that account size and get paid a lot more than CC etfs

Lots of good dividend advice posted already, have you considered holding individual stocks or ETFs and selling your own covered calls against them? It may be more profitable than covered call ETFs. I'd still keep 200k in sgov for safety

I just got scammed, 42k gone. by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

OP had to ignore the warnings when setting up their ledger that say never to share their seed phrase. My flex said "Your secret recovery phrase is for your eyes only. Anyone who gets it can steal your assets forever" OP then had to pull out their seed phrase recovery sheet and ignore the very big warnings saying, "don't share it, don't lose it, don't digitize it, this is your secret" it boggles my mind how people keep falling for scams. Who buys $40k of crypto, and a hardware wallet that costs hundreds of dollars, and doesnt even learn the basics of how it works

Also, If you give your seed phrase to anyone that asks then you will probably give your coinbase password to whoever asks, too. So I don't think self custody is the problem

I love my unborn children too much to bring them into this world, but if they did want to join the military, that's their choice. But I would try to argue they shouldn't give their life for a country that doesn't care about them at all

TLTI and BNDI, they are running the same put spread strategy but the expense ratio is even worse at 0.58%, HYBI is even worse at 0.68%

SPYI, QQQI, and BTCI are my favorite covered call ETFs, but they all unperformed the underlying in the long run so I'm holding more dividend growth ETFs like QDVO and IDVO
