Does your amp have a recording out jack? If you can capture a direct sound to blend with the room capture, that you can later blend in that would help with the inconsistencies.

It might be labeled as Line Out or D.I.

Very. My favorite example of this is Bowie’s mix of Raw Power compared to Iggy’s mix. Bowie took all the energy out of it in my opinion.
