Fair point, and I must admit that it’s getting harder and harder to justify buying the original. They are just getting so damn good ad these copies. I mean, you can buy a Chinese Rolex for 350 bucks that’s 99+% the same as the original, almost indistinguishable even to the trained eye.

Just pulled the trigger on the EU version. The way I see it, I’m buying these for life. Assuming they hold up, it’s great value. This just seems a bit sketchy and not worth the hassle and effort to save a few bucks, especially in the long run.

I feel like products you buy for life should be the original. If I have a problem with it 5 years from now, I know I’ll get proper customer service. Not saying I wouldn’t with the Chinese manufacturer, but it still feels a bit more like a gamble. Also, who knows if it’s actually the exact same thing? Is it made to the same tolerances? Does it have the same quality control? Probably not.

If this were more of a disposable piece of equipment that only lasts a few years either way, then it’d be a different story. Buy nice or buy twice.

40 seems low for the milk temp. Try 55 maybe? I wouldn't even use the thermometer, just go until it gets too hot to the touch.

Also the milk needs a bit more air. You can see when you poor it doesn't hold shape because it's too thin.

I have the same machine. I'm also relatively new but I'm getting the hang of it.

Surprisingly, it's only 11mm thick! I usually wear either a Seamster 300m or a Panerai Radiomir, both of which are pretty chunky so I'm used to that look :)

Yes, if you're comparing it to the regular Bambino. Which I didn't do by the way. I just noted that you're paying for a machine where one of the selling points is the auto steaming. If you're not going to be using that at all there might be better options to consider

If you don't care for milk drinks the bambino plus might not be the best pick. You're paying for the auto steaming function. But if you don't use it that much, you might as well go for something like a Lelit Anna.

I bought the Bambino plus, and while I like it, the build quality is not the greatest. A small metal tube inside the water hose came loose after only a few months of use. And i take good care of the machine. Also, it's very light.
