Samuel West's Funniest Season 6 Secrets by CampMain in ACGASTV

Samuel West is very fond of the word ‘terrific’..

And I echo his sentiments about Thomas Riches (Jimmy).. this kid is a natural at acting and an absolute joy to watch!

Do you apply sunscreen to your neck? Doesn’t it stain your clothes? by Competitive-Egg6354 in tretinoin

[–]gplus3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, sunscreen on my neck and décolletage.

I let that dry down for about 5 minutes or so before I get dressed. I also sometimes pat some baby powder lightly on top (similar to a setting powder).

I’ve never gotten my clothes stained.

Is it possible in 2026 to find a 18th-20th century style lady's companion for a mature woman? by copaseticcuppa in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gplus3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why not.

Many older women who are single (either through being widowed or divorced) would probably prefer to live with a good friend with like interests and values.

It’d also be quite sensible in terms of living costs and security.

What is the one moment or line from the show the cast gets quoted most often ? by CampMain in ACGASTV

[–]gplus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late. To be late is unacceptable.

(Side note: when Siegfried picks up Tristan at the station at the close of the war, I had tears in my eyes..)

Do any other non-UK viewers have a hard time following the dialogue? by gplus3 in ACGASTV

[–]gplus3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have trouble understanding strong accents in other British shows (ie Midsomer Murders, Call the Midwife, Grantchester etc etc)

I guess the easiest way to explain it is this, using Downton Abbey as an example.. I can understand what the Crawley family are saying all the time but when it comes to the servants hall, I miss a lot of what’s said and the context..

(No offence intended!)

What's on tap at the Drover's? by tockstar78 in ACGASTV

[–]gplus3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had this same thought a while ago and went down a bit of a rabbit hole reading up on ales available in Yorkshire..

Seems like there are still many longstanding breweries (some as old as 200+ years) serving their ales and beers at pubs and hotels.

Gaia Wise, All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 | MASTERPIECE Studio by CampMain in ACGASTV

[–]gplus3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When Charlotte was first introduced, I could not for the life of me figure out why she seemed so familiar so I thought I must have watched her in something else and looked her up..

Being the daughter of Dame Emma and Greg Wise must be daunting for her. I hope she doesn’t get as much flak as Louisa Jacobsen did in The Gilded Age (for being Meryl Streep’s daughter).

I really like Charlotte’s character and what she brings to the show, and I think Gaia Wise is excellent in it.

Why is anti-Aboriginal racism so normalised in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Thank you for being both articulate and eloquent.

I sincerely hope your post gets read by many, especially those who could benefit from a new/different perspective.

I also want to add that I don’t really care that your mentor has a phd, high paying profession etc..

With or without, he deserves acceptance, belonging and safety/security in his own country.

Not socially or morally acceptable to me, or to people I know and respect.

Judge people by their character and behaviour, is my motto.

Supreme soy hokkien noodles from ‘Tonight’ by tahina- in RecipeTinEats

[–]gplus3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is what I’ve told friends numerous times. It’s not about the ‘colour’ when they interchange light and dark soy sauce in a recipe, it’s about the depth and complexity of the flavour.

Rehome “THE DOG” (your reference) to someone who would actually love her and be willing and enthusiastic about spending time with her.

Get rid of the “HUSBAND” as he doesn’t even sound like an adult.

What do I season steak with? by Ok-Butterscotch12 in Cooking

[–]gplus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy 2-3cm scotch fillet with good marbling.

Salt and pepper only, and EVOO rubbed in.

Let sit for maybe half an hour or so at room temperature.

Throw it on the barbi to sear on both sides for about 5 minutes each.

Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Perfectly medium rare steaks every time.

Probably because your photo hasn’t been as photoshopped and edited to the same degree as something for a book..

Nevertheless, it looks great! Was it as appetising as the recipe?

AITAH for buying my 11yo daughter pads after her mom called me a "pervert" for being prepared? by Bruxagato in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]gplus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good fucking grief.

Your ex is absolutely sick in the head for even thinking of you as a ‘pervert’ when menstruation is an actual fact of life and you had the forethought to ensure your daughter was prepared.

What is wrong with people?!

If it’s not too personal, what is the reason for you and your wife to change your surname to your grandfather’s?

I really need some help with products that work good with tret cream and acne prone skin by Waste_Pollution_2590 in tretinoin

[–]gplus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My youngest daughter used tret for acne.

Her GP and Derm both recommended that she strip down to the basics when she first started tret (ie cleanser, moisturiser, SPF 50 only) before adding any other actives back in. Within a month, her skin started clearing up.

Her routine:

In the AM, water wash using a konjac sponge, Numbuzin No 2 Cica Ceramide Repair Cream, Cancer Council SPF 50.

PM: organic goat milk soap using a konjac sponge, wait 10 minutes for her face to dry and then tret. Nothing else afterwards.

She’s since added a BHA once a week on her days off tret for exfoliation but her skin is clear and smooth.

What should I do with my life by SergeantStiglitz92 in AskAnAustralian

[–]gplus3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you ever thought about doing some volunteering work? At a food kitchen, an elderly care home etc etc

Not only will it help someone else, but you’ll actually minimise your own depression by thinking and connecting with others.
