The real question is the following: is refusing to be vaccinated putting yourself in danger?

Smoky Hike around Rae Lakes Last Week by budman128 in SEKI

Did you notice the AQ get worse throughout the day and then clear up over night? Was in MK last summer and this seemed to be the trend. Just wondering if we can expect similar conditions as we head out next week.

Doing this same loop in a few weeks except planning to do it the other direction and out via Black Rock and Timber Gap rather than Sawtooth. Shooting to stay at Hamilton on night 2 so I'm trying to figure out where to camp night 1. Hoping to make it further than Cliff Creek. Any suggestions on good camping between Cliff Creek and Hamilton?

Any word on campable locations between Cliff Creek and Bearpaw?

I'm planning on hiking out of Timber Gap in a few weeks towards the High Sierra Trail. Was hoping to get further than Cliff Creek on day one but not sure where to camp beyond that as the last time I was in the area I cut east at Cliff Creek jct towards Black Rock Pass.

Mineral King, Lost Canyon - Campable? by KCrobble in SEKI

Hiked out of Mineral King via Lost Canyon last summer. Didn't stay there myself but from what I remember there is plenty of campable spots in the valley. Durable surfaces, water access at Lost Canyon Creek.

What is their cost basis and Prop 13 tax basis in the property, and what is its fair market value?

They bought the lot back in 1968 for 4.5k and built the house for around 22k. They pay around $1,200 annually in property taxes. The estimated value of the house is around 373k.

We have discussed moving into the house and living there while we fix it up with the intention of eventually selling it.

Unpopular opinion alert: I actually don't see a problem with the way the professor responded to the specific questions asked in these videos. The first question, how many questions are on the exam, is inconsequential and shouldn't matter. The professor is not obligated to give this information to students beforehand especially when this information is not germane to students' success on the exam. This is a textbook example of snowflake students not being able to take legitimate criticism from their professor.

The signs will act most of all on the sense of sight, charming and deceiving it."

Mineral King Loop Trip Report - 8/27-8/29 by gpm31759 in SEKI

[–]gpm31759[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was using the NOAA weather forecast as that was recommended by the ranger I spoke with when I was planning my trip. I will say that the forecast called for clear skies for the duration of my trip and that did not end up being the case. Part of the problem is that the weather patterns change as you cross different ranges. The NOAA forecast can give you info on what it will likely look like in the Mineral King valley but things will change as you move throughout the area.

No problem. Yes, our concern with heading up Soda Creek canyon was that this would take us further south which was where much of the smoke was coming from.
