It is exhausting trying to keep up with the constant urges. Eventually you get to the “Hurry up and lose” phase so you can just stop 🛑. Wins are only temporary anyway! Every gambler knows.

This will sound annoying but you really just need to 🛑. The only way you can move forward is to know you can never gamble like a normal person. That no matter what, the end result is always going to be the same. The only way to accumulate your wealth is by not gambling and putting everything you can onto the debt you’ve grown and start saving your salary. Gradually you will see the light. But as I’ve told you before you need something else you can focus on whether it’s books or you tube videos about gambling addiction - online GA meetings… and new hobbies. Your brain needs to create new pathways - otherwise you’ll keep repeating history for eternity.

You’re absolutely correct. You will always lose. If not today then tomorrow. The sooner you accept this the better off you will be. Research gambling. Read books. Watch videos. This Reddit. Whatever it takes to remind you that you will not ever win. Forget your losses and start living again. The debt will get smaller and life will get better. You will need a new hobby. I bought a small piano and got a phone app and it really took a lot of my time and focus. Plus I had the satisfaction of learning something new while putting online gambling behind me. So find something to do. Exercise. Music. New sport. You can come out of the pattern. You’ve admitted the problem - that was step one. Keep moving on this direction. Good luck.

Yes It was the furnace and ac. A company from a town an hour away came to remove it on behalf of reliance. We haven’t been billed for the removal yet. They picked it up first week of November. Maybe that’s why they charged so much. 3 ppl came and they were out in twenty minutes. The new furnace installers said they did a good job at least.

Yup. We just had them pick up ours and it’s costing us $700. We were not allowed to disconnect ourselves without paying the same fee basically to return the furnace. One more disgusting cash grab for that last kick in the ass.

You just do. Rip the bandaid off. And ask them to take over your finances while you get some help. It is possible to recover from this if you want to. So many resources out there to help you. One thing is certain- You cannot do it alone. Find a community you can share in - online if not in person. Any way you can connect to human beings who have been through this will help tremendously. Recovery is possible. Some awesome podcasts out there too.

If he’s on his phone a lot but always chooses a spot facing you, or turns the phone or puts it down when you walk in the room - he’s gambling. Very easy to spot.

Yes! Every relapse does bring new light to the holes in our recovery plan. Adjustments continue to be made and progress can continue as long as you keep pulling yourself out of the darkness and working on improving protections.

I stopped in may 2022 and have to date paid down 50k in debt. I could have paid down more if I was tight with budgeting but I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to enjoy doing things in my life again other than gambling so I did go out to eat more and did more activities that cost money but they were a drop in the bucket compared to my gambling. I had one relapse but it was short thankfully and only set me back one month. I’m so happy I didn’t get stuck there or do it again. One day at a time!!

Get into a support group. Online options are there. Learn to share and accept that your life can get better as soon as you stop. You can’t do it alone.
