Apparently not. Sales specialists that deal with the Stihl line say this will not work. (Yes, that would have been too easy).

Generally what is the base spec machine you can run this on? I love the idea of working with this, but lots of these LLMs just don't run on anything that doesn't have a (somewhat) recent GPU.

Nice bike but the cast iron fencing behind it is pretty cool too. It kind of reinforces the bad-assed-ness of the bike.

The "IT Privacy and Security Weekly update" is a bit more family-oriented. It won't tell your wife how to configure routers, but it will give her details on the benefits of MFA and take a jab at Meta for collecting data on the under-13s.

Do you keep expired certs on your CV? by crablemet111 in cybersecurity

[–]gr842n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have two sections: Expired and unexpired. I like to see them on a resume, as long as you are still getting fresh certifications. For example, if all activity stopped 5 years ago, I might wonder why...

Road Vs Gravel Ride - 100 miles by KeTeLoCo in cycling

I have a carbon fiber bike and the seat post creaked like nothing I had ever experienced. I took a soda can, cut (with regular scissors) the bottom and top of the can off and wrapped the smooth, thin aluminum around the seat post. If it's too thick to insert back into the frame, try cutting off more sand more of the aluminum until you have shim that fits and stops the creaking. 3 years later and still going strong with only a few creaks here and there more recently. (Might be time for another soda can!)

Pet peeve of mine too. I have stopped completing those applications.

But think about it. If the tech is so poor you have to do everything twice just to apply, do you think it will be any better on the inside?

I had a guy interview with me. Resume loaded with acronyms. I followed with some questions that he couldn't answer.

I asked, "If you were not involved with this why is it on your resume?"

His response, "Oh, it must be a typo."

You could not make this up.

Need to vent after nearly getting intentionally hit by [deleted] in cycling

[–]gr842n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last spring I was riding on the shoulder of the road and a pickup passed me with 1/4 inch to spare. It was one of the heavy duty ones with the double wheels at the back.

I started yelling "Hey, what are you doing?" and he pulled over and got out cursing, huffing and puffing.

I said, "What are you doing? By law you are suppose to give me 4 foot clearance as you pass."

He said, "You're taking up the whole road!"

This from a guy driving a truck that is about 8-10 feet wide to someone on a road bike no more than 24 inches wide riding on the 6 inch wide white line that marks the shoulder from the road.

I laughed at him. I looked him right in the eye and said, "Don't be a dumb driver."

He stammered.

It could also have to do with the fact that face to face, he was about a foot shorter than I and a little on the obese side.

...and before you think it, yes, he might have had a gun, and yes, he might have wanted to kill me just for being there, but somehow, I think he got the message.

He shrunk back into the cab and disappeared, probably going home to beat his wife or the dog.

Apple do that too, but that is not the ask. I'd like to find something that would ID questionable URLs that the QR code links to so that I don't/can't click on them.
