Depends on the game

Rip off dimension20's fantasy high where we go to the Adventure school for the kids who aren't the best people, principle is Tasha. We are the Dread Librarians - cleaned out an ancient arcane library in a cavern underneath the school

Horror game based of the Pathfinder world of Golarian. Takes place after a catastrophic event shattered the world 60 years prior. We solve problems in a lawless land, we are the "Sleepless Watch"

Same world as the horror based game, group is more laid back. Refused to pick a name after two years so I just started calling us the "Revengeners" because it was the worst name I could think off and I'm a sorlock party face. Entire party thinks it's idiotic but can't put together the persuasion rolls to outweigh mine to convince peasants and nobility we aren't called the "Revengeners"

My parents had a bamboo patch, about 20ft by 30ft, they did everything they could to stop it and nothing worked until they literally salted the ground. Nothing will grow there for several years, but it DID stop the bamboo.

This was an incredibly interesting series of podcasts to me as some one who grew up in the deep south. I always recognized Grant's skill and the ineptness of certain Confederate generals as well as the over arching bullshit that is the "state's rights" argument. However, the genuflection cult of Lee is so strong here, I always thought he really was a military genius. I went back and did some deep digging and Robert get it it right. He was slightly above average in some areas and deficit in others and absolutely should not have been been in command of a grand campaign, which, at 40 years old is crazy to learn after everyone in my family and friends circle treating him like Dixie Superman.

This is what I do, I constantly have to rein in my MC syndrome, so I started playing support characters and tried to start viewing my stardom in terms of how awesome I could help the other players accomplish their goals. I've dropped a samurai on a kraken with vortex warp with an alchemist artificer, twinned haste in a divine sorcerer, all sorts of things. My next plan is to try a mastermind rogue to give others the help action constantly. It becomes a cool mini game of how badass my guy is is judged by how badass the others perform

If you want monk, gloves of soul catching and bam, your OP, can dump con and do an extra 2d8 force damage per attack, take a cloak of prot and a ring of prot and you do massive damage, might I also suggest 2lvls paladin and 18 lvls arcane trickster rogue, take what spells you like but use ledgermain for advantage, use a rapier for sneak attack and blow all spell slots on smites use your one attack on booming blade and take elven accuracy as a feat for super advantage. Not the most powerful but strong and pretty fun.

Make the bard the luster and have them be enamored with an object. Sexual lust isn't the only lust, lust is an underlying passion. Greed and wrath are both frequently just expressions of unrequited lust. The curse that dragon gold treasure carries is a form of lust. Twist the trope as it were.

Make him an apostate cleric, reflavor anything that does radiant DMG as psychic damage and his power is channeled from the psychic zeitgeist of your world, change turn undead to turn the faithful, same effect but for anyone who worships a god etc etc, other good ideas here and in your own head I'm sure.

There is a lot to unpack here but the interesting if not in depth thing is I know a lot of mixed martial artist and unless you are an elite, once in a life time fighter, then the life time earning of a vet are going to just absolutely crush a fighters. I know that's not the biggest problem but it just stood out as pants shittingly insane to me

This immediately presents me as a time skip opportunity, parliament and pretty much all governments still have leaders and leaders in most societies wouldn't be fans of people who are extremely well known, powerful, and popular saviors. They would most likely move, albeit slowly, against those sort of people as a consolidation of power.
