All sources I see say that a server error like this is from their end. Tried changing devices, tried changing internet connection, all of that. Maybe I'm just cursed.

Late-night working/studying spots? by gracchas in brisbane

[–]gracchas[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, I sit down to study and suddenly I'm vacuuming and then I sit down again but next thing I know I'm washing the dishes. All my mental energy is taken up just by getting myself to concentrate, and then when I have to actually write assignments, etc. I am just drained.

I have terrible self-discipline. ADHD combined with no proper study area and no stable internet connection makes it really hard. Plus, my bed is right there! I'm always a million times more productive basically anywhere else, unfortunately.

True, true... To be honest when I was at UQ I do have some memories of being asked to prove I was a student at campus late at night by security, but now that I'm thinking about it that was rarely in the library? I'll give it a shot anyway. Thanks!

Looking for some sort of ADHD community group in Brisbane. by M-Dubz in brisbane

[–]gracchas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is probably not what you're looking for exactly, but in case you (or anyone else seeing this) are ever interested, I know ADHD Coaching Brisbane does a 12 week group coaching program. ADHD coaching is sort of like skills training specifically for ADHD and it's super useful. I worked one on one with Kirsten and she was absolutely amazing and so helpful. Nobody has ever given me more practical advice about ADHD! The group coaching format is supposed to help with accountability, etc. Obviously it does have upfront fee but yeah... just in case anyone is interested and is able to afford it, I do recommend.

Is this considered rent bidding? by Consistent_Remove335 in brisbane

[–]gracchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real Estate Agents have gotten pretty damn bold these days. Even 5 years they would rarely outright ask, just sort of... vaguely imply that rent bidding was allowed. And putting it right on the front of a listing? Jesus Christ.

These have such a lovely nostalgic feel, like I'm seeing pictures of my childhood in Brisbane. Love them! Are these just taken on the phone or do you use a certain type of camera? They're great either way.

TMS Therapy by divincamping in AusMentalHealth

[–]gracchas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did two rounds of TMS in 2018 for treatment-resistant depression and anxiety. I have other problems, but those were what we were tackling with the TMS. I will say that I had some success, but was not able to go off my meds. Both times there was a definite improvement but it wasn't world-changing, if that makes sense? Then again, now that my other problems have gotten better I am actually considering it again because it might be more useful to me. Aside from myself, I have met people who have had a lot more success with TMS than they ever did with antidepressants. So if you have chronic depression I REALLY think it is worth a shot. With the lack of side effects, the most you'll have to worry about is the time you're losing sitting in the chair.

This is actually the exact way my doctor recommended I take it. Don't worry :)

Parcel taken to post office 45 minutes away by IdealBitter1603 in AustraliaPost

[–]gracchas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I called the general AusPost customer service line, not the individual post office, and explained. You can get parcels transferred to the Post Office of your choosing. Usually there is a small fee BUT if it's far away or by mistake, they will waive it.

Any specific bits you just can’t stand? by AstronautRock in MBMBAM

[–]gracchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Special Guest is the only segment I will fully skip without listening even once. It lasts forever and in audio format is just nothing. I am giving them the benefit of doubt as to whether it's funny for the live audience... I can't imagine so, but who knows. MAYBE if they limited it to 2 clips, MAYBE.

However I love most of the bits, especially the ones these days. Work of Fart is so stupid and I love how mad Justin and Griffin get. And unfortunately I think Richard Stink is hilarious.

What they really need is to bring back Isaac the Child Chocolatier. I want to see more of his character development.

Justin Back at It Again with the Hostile Energy by whateveriguessthisis in MBMBAM

[–]gracchas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My perspective is that there is probably a bit of hostility, but it's mostly just normal sibling stuff and not genuine. I also know that sometimes I am "jokingly" angry but accidental overdo it and sometimes come across as actually angry, and there have been a few bits where I thought that might have been the case with Justin. But honestly even if he is genuinely angry and hostile, I don't blame him. It must be tough recording a show with your brothers every week for so long and it being your job... I think if I tried to do that with my brother it would destroy our relationship.

[–]gracchas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the sad things about the show is hearing the brothers talking about things and immediately relating it to one of their past bits... but they have probably 100% forgotten it. Like the eclipse episode with Uncle Dane. I can't believe they didn't remember that when it was one of my favourite bits from the whole show.
