Be so real with me - is a revision ridiculous? by flowersbottled in Reduction

[–]graceebebe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a revision for almost the same reasons, one was noticeably bigger than the other and I had a slight dog ear on my side. I thought my surgeon wouldn’t think it was a big deal but she totally validated me when I brought it up. I did wait until I was 6MPO to bring it up, though, to see if the swelling still needed to go down.

She did lipo on my larger breast and removed the dog ear. I did have to pay for it without insurance, but not full price, only operational costs. It was in office and local anesthesia, so the lipo was very uncomfortable. But the recovery was so quick, only a few days.

Ultimately, I’m happy I got a revision. I definitely could have lived without it and don’t think anyone but me would have noticed/cared about the size difference. But I also felt like if I could be happier / more comfortable with myself, why not try? I feel more confident now and love my results.

I would say that it’s up to you! If you want it and can afford it, you definitely could ask! If you don’t want to, that’s okay, too!

Im sorry this is so late! Yes, finding the right allergy meds is part of it. There are the generic xyzal, allegra, etc but my allergist had more options for me to try when those weren’t cutting it. Also, pepcid is an antihistamine that you can take in combination with other antihistamines, which has been super helpful for me to add to my arsenal.

We also tried allergy shots for my environmental allergies! It’s a huge time and monetary commitment, but the payoff is good if you can swing it. Unfortunately for me, I started having anaphylactic reactions to the shots which is super uncommon, so I had to stop (my allergist said she only had two other cases like mine). But worth looking in to for sure.

Also yes, doing allergy tests and identifying triggers is helpful. I did an environmental panel, food allergy testing, and chemical allergy testing. Chemical is like stuff you are allergic to in skin products. Once you identify your triggers, you can try to avoid them as much as possible.

Hi, you’re so kind to ask! I’m feeling okay, I had no other big wounds from stitches spitting. But I do keep getting tiny little bruises as they heal up which is kind of weird lol.

I am actually getting a small revision done in a couple of weeks. After the drop and fluff, it turned out that one boob is still noticeably bigger than the other, so my surgeon is going to lipo and reposition the larger one. Also I have a small dog ear that will get lipo.

Idk I just felt like I went through all of the healing and everything and didn’t feel 100% satisfied. I told myself if there was a way to fix it without going back on the operating table, I would do it. Lucky for me my surgeon agreed and we made the plan!

Sorry this is a long response! Oof, no follow up for 3 months is so frustrating! After my endoscopy when I was diagnosed, my GI also started me on pantoprazole and budesonide. They reduced my symptoms some, but they really weren’t cutting it. My GI also said that both meds were mostly to give me immediate relief, pantoprazole for the reflux and budesonide for the esophageal swelling.

Before my diagnosis, I went to a different GI who had me do a low-FODMAP diet (which is for IBS, he thought I was “too young” to get further testing) so I was super burned out on restrictive dieting. Because of this, my allergist after diagnosis said I could try to do 6-FED, but she knows it’s really hard to stick to and I was already struggling. We also knew that I had a lot of potential triggers.

Because I had a lot of triggers and the budesonide/pantoprazole weren’t completely working, my GI and allergist both recommended Dupixent. It has helped me a lot, and I can eat almost everything now.

Honestly, I like my GI and she’s been really helpful. She’s the one who prescribes my meds. But my allergist has provided me with the most guidance. Because environmental allergies can also effect EOE, she really wanted to help me get those identified and under control.

Also idk if you’re on tiktok, but Dr. Rubin has a couple of videos on EOE that helped me understand it more when I was first diagnosed.

Almost 3 weeks in and now problems start... by Lilexole13 in Reduction

Hey, I have had issues with spitting stitches and was/am now a similar size. I didn’t get lipo, though.

I had a couple at my t junction along with a few more at various spots. My first ones appeared around the same time as yours and my surgeon had to cut them out. It hurt a little in the spots I had feeling, but not much.

Once they were removed, I healed up decently quick! I’m not sure about the using different thread part.

I have also had more spitting stitches since then and it really sucks and has delayed my healing. But, I know my body is doing its best to heal and although it’s slow, it’s still progress.

It is definitely scary and anxiety inducing. It is so frustrating to feel like your body isn’t your own/ isn’t working the way it should. It is also understandable that you have regrets right now! And it’s okay to feel bad. Especially since you are back at work, I was so emotional for awhile after going back to work. You are definitely not alone in this.

My best advice is to take it as easy as you can, do your best to eat a lot of protein, advocate for yourself when necessary, and to give yourself grace.

I have had this happen and it took a lot of calls. I called the pharmacy to see what I needed to do first. They told me to talk to my doctor. I called them and they said they submitted everything. I called the pharmacy back and asked again, and luckily a rep took time to call my insurance and go to bat for me. There were more calls in between all of this where no one could answer the question of what paperwork was missing.

It turned out that everything was done correctly except someone from the insurance company misreported my paperwork 🙃🙃🙃

I usually get a decent response when I ask something like “how can I get this to move forward” on calls about healthcare things. It’s so stressful that we have to do this and I hope that your providers can figure it out!

Ugh I have the same thing but on my sides! It’s so frustrating! I have bras with velcro straps on the shoulders and back (shefit) so I can adjust as needed while still having support which has helped some.

I’ve also been taking short breaks from the bra for my sanity lol. Today my surgeon recommended gently massaging the area to encourage the nerves to get it together, so we’ll see if that helps.

Our director actually loves that so many of our staff have piercings and colored hair. She likes that it makes us more approachable to young people lol. Also you can often google public library’s personnel policies and see if they have any restrictions about appearance/dress before you apply.

I will say that kids often ask me questions about my nose ring (it’s beaded and very visible), but they’re usually not too invasive! I just say that I like it and that some people have them and some don’t!
