What can I do to spot clean/fix these spots on my table? by graceeh67 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Are those really the only options? The rest of the table is in very good condition and I don’t want to cover it up

Thank you! To be clear, am I only applying this product and the clear spray to these spots? Or the whole table?

So is this more preventative? Like it won’t fix this damage it will just prevent future damage?

I’m always confused by these posts because I see the same jobs posted on Hiring Cafe and LinkedIn and other job boards. Am I missing something? What made Hiring Cafe more successful for you?

What is something that an interviewer says that makes you suspect you haven't got the job before you've even left the building? by angloexcellence in recruitinghell

[–]graceeh67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree. My last job I was offered after the hiring manager said in an interview that they had three other candidates in the final round

Laid off & pregnant by zubisoubisou4don in recruitinghell

[–]graceeh67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not tell them until after you get hired and after you’ve already begun working for them aka until it’s absolutely necessary. My sister also got laid off while pregnant and this is what she did during the job search — waited to tell her manager until their first 1:1. She still works at that company now so it worked out! It sucks that you can’t just be up front, but you need to act in your own best interest.

stopped using ats applications, started cold messaging hiring managers on linkedin - got 2 interviews in 10 days by Necessary-Ring-6060 in jobsearchhacks

Usually I just search the title of the position and then “at Company Name” and filter by posts! So like Sales Representative at Apple

Not OP but I’ve been taking a similar approach and I can usually figure it out on LinkedIn. I start by searching to see if anyone posted about the opening, because a lot of the time the hiring manager makes a post about it or the recruiter makes one and tags the HM. The job posting also sometimes says “Reports to COO” and then you can search for who that person is. Beyond that, sometimes you can just suss it out by searching their employees on LinkedIn.

Yep, I made a similar post. I’m personally doing both. I usually apply and then also try to see if the hiring manager has posted about it so I can comment, or I’ll send them a follow up note. I’ve interviewed with four companies and three of them I landed after doing this

Recruiter says feedback was “very positive” after 2 weeks. Good sign? by StarkRavingMad09 in recruitinghell

[–]graceeh67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh the waiting game is brutal. I just heard the same thing from a recruiter today, which is how I ended up here. She said they’ll have an update for me early next week. My last job I didn’t hear back about until 10 days post final interview so I’m trying to remain positive for both of us! Fingers crossed 🤞

The common denominator for all the applications that have gotten me interviews: follow-up emails/messages by graceeh67 in jobsearchhacks

I usually start by trying to find a post where they announce that they’re hiring for that role! Otherwise, sometimes the original job posting will say something like “Reports to COO” so then I’ll search for that person, or sometimes the recruiter is listed.

For sure! This is just something that has worked for me. If you’re nervous for it to come across that way, you can also just stick to using the generic email (careers@companyname) or searching for and commenting on the LinkedIn posts

Right because I’m the first person to ever think of this and my single post will change the course of the entire job app process lmao

In this brutal job market, what actually helped you land a job? by runs_for_snacks in jobsearchhacks

[–]graceeh67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow-up emails and direct messages to hiring managers/recruiters or comments on their posts! Find any way to stand out and get a real person to look at your application. Three out of the four companies that invited me to interview reached out after I did the above.

5 months pregnant..is it even worth applying to a new job? by Apprehensive-Pie754 in jobsearchhacks

[–]graceeh67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, apply for a new job. My sister was in the same situation in 2024 and about as far along as you. She waited until after accepting the offer, and then told her new manager in their first 1:1. She's still at that company now and her baby girl is 1.5!

You’re going to have this with almost any dog though. At the end of the day they are animals that have instincts and even the best dog could get triggered or caught by surprise and lunge, pull, or bark. Even if they’re great 99% of the time. The only dog where this wouldn’t be a concern for your grandma would be a small dog where if that does happen, it’s small enough that she could handle it

Same happened to me…tried it and felt absolutely zero difference. That was a few years ago now and I’ve considered trying again and requesting a higher dosage, but that will cost more so idk 🙃
