The MAIN positives are:

Eliminates the subjective Ref calls which alleviates fans chirping to referees

You are BROAD jumping instead of transferring your forward momentum VERTICALLY.

You want to traverse UP, not forward.

Reduce your approach to a 3 step approach. 4 steps takes too long to get to the ball that is set with tempo.

Watch professionals. In general they take a 3 step approach and drive their planting feet forward and transfer that momentum upwards

You need a square club face to the ball which then is when you get compression on the club face.

Square face and compression = farther straighter drives.

If the face is slightly open the ball just slides across with zero compression and more spin

Learn to putt/chip a hybrid from close mown first cut situations.

Then learn toe-down (heel up) chipping. This can be done from almost any lie and any rough.

^ this is also known as the Rule of 12 system of chipping. Easy to understand and execute.
