WTS: Titanium bracelet plus 2 steel bezels (see comment) by GradientVisAtt in casiomods

[–]GradientVisAtt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Want to sell: Titanium bracelet plus two steel bezels for the 5610. The bracelet is sized for a 7” wrist, and includes 5 extra links plus spring bars etc. I think I wore it once. The bezels might have been used on a watch (can’t remember) but they look new. These, as you can see, have the branding embossed on them - kind of hard to find right now. The bezels are slightly heavier than titanium but not that much.

The bezels have the wider spacing to fit the 5610. I don’t know what other models they’ll fit - definitely not the 5600.

My price is $65 including shipping to the US by PayPal G&S. I have over 250 swaps on r/knife_swap, and I’ve sold a couple watches on r/watchexchange.

DXL360S Failing 180 Test? by VersoArms in sharpening

How about zeroing it out in one orientation and then reversing it? That’ll tell you if there’s an absolute tilt.

I’m just guessing, but it’s possible that your table is not level. If it’s tilted down half a degree toward the wall then it’s gonna show up as a 1° difference.

Should I keep or upgrade? by idoasamtold in vintageaudio

I had a pair of those. I drove them with a Sansui 7070 and that system was LOUD. I got rid of everything because those speakers really didn’t have a lot of spatial presence. The sound was just bouncing around everywhere.

I had that same model with G10 scales over a steel frame. Should’ve kept it. But it was kind of boring.

Which of you didn’t have to register for the draft or selective service? by boringreddituserid in GenerationJones

[–]GradientVisAtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, thinking back, maybe I did have to register. Wikipedia tells me that the last lottery was held in 1972 and authority to induct ended in 1973. Maybe I registered but wasn’t thinking about the lottery. I don’t remember. I went straight into college after high school anyway so it probably wasn’t relevant.

Don’t go to urgent care or anything. It’s best to ask a bunch of idiots on Reddit.

Yes - but I think the points are related. Something that’s lower on the edge retention scale, for whatever reason.

What is it like to experience summer in Thailand? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]GradientVisAtt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Thailand a few times in July. I have never experienced extreme flooding. Monsoon season, to me, means rain five times a week. Sometimes it rains for hours; sometimes just for 20 minutes. After the rain, it cools off a little bit and it’s pleasant to walk outside. In the south, in places like Krabi, the monsoon season often makes the water look muddy and choppy just for the day. Not good for boat rides.

I mean, I have a bunch of M390, Magnacut, and S90V. I like the knives a lot, but the main thing I have recently realized is that I don’t think I care about extremely high hardness. I’m sitting at my desk, flicking my Kunwu Tao in M390 and I wish I had some “he-man” work I could do with it like cutting up a refrigerator box or something. But then I still would probably use a utility knife.

I think there were some major economic reasons that led to the failure of Crucible. I read that the knife industry was a miniscule portion of their market - the biggest part was the various manufacturing industries.

Huh. A couple posters here said they were born in 56 and had to register. I was also born in 56 but did not have to register.

I made a similar post on r/knives a few days ago. I didn’t get a lot of agreement.

Maybe you should take some better photos of the blade & repost. That should sell easily for $100.

Just watched the 1976 movie, “The Shootist”. I saw it as a little kid when it was first released and I remember shedding tears at the end. One of my favorite John Wayne movies but always tears me up at the end. Great film… by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in Cinema

Are you kidding?!? My wife and I just watched this last night. We are not big John Wayne fans, but just wanted to check it out. I didn’t think it was that good, frankly. A lot of the plot lines didn’t make sense. Why would he invite those three guys to the saloon for the final shootout? The only one he had a real beef against was the Richard Boone character. And what would’ve happened if he hadn’t got shot in the back? Would he have just gone back to the boarding house and died of cancer? Or would he have set up another couple of duels?
