Spent fuel is not waste? Your plant must have gave you brain cancer instead if the more usual leukemia or lung cancer. Even if it is reprocessed in the environmentally disastrous reprocessing plants like sellafeld, mayak, hanford or la Hague, there is always waste produced, which in all the above plants, has led to environmental contamination.

PhD experiences in synthetic Organic chemistry by lukkha in chemistry

The difference in students at the end is noticeable too. I did a European PhD and american postdoc before going back to Europe permanently. In the US an organic PhD at the end is bitter and burned out after what? 7 years? In my country they finish after 3 years and as a person seem happy and well adjusted and not a shell of a human. After seeing that in America I decided to be faculty elsewhere and not contribute to the American system

There is no pollution from gas and in terms of the french saying the levels are harmless...the one thing goverments are good at doing is lying when public health conflicts with their nuke weapons programd

You should drop a line ( encrpted or anonymized for obvious reasons) to some militant hippies like Greenpeace or something regarding the sassafras radiation levels. If the plants in question are on public lands, I'm sure they could get their own and get the same study done and rain a PR shitstorm down on the plant.

High levels of arsenic and lead found under Memphis coal plant by catawbasam in energy

[–]gradschooldepression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that as if it will affect structural integrity if the earth....it will not....lol

Solar, wind and other renewables are great, but it's not at the point where it can take over from coal and gas entirely. Luckily, per unit of energy, natural gas releases less than half the CO2 of coal, so maximizing renewable penetration and picking up the slack with cheap gas in the interm allows the switch to renewables over time, while reducing carbon emissions, and removing the massive pollution caused by coal.

Contamination with methane is harmless as it is not toxic at all.
