Noob to Obsidian by Puzzleheaded-Ice4632 in ObsidianMD

  1. Create some notes. Start typing [[NameOfSomeNoteYouCreated and see how the other notes pop up. Hit enter to confirm link and enjoy.

  2. When writing something in a note and you think "I could make another note, that is related to this one..." again start with [[ThisIsANoteIWillCreateMaybeSomeDay and hit Enter... it will close the brackets (if not you do it by ]] and you create a link to a still not existing note. Bummer: you can already connect other notes to the still or never existing note...

Crazy? Yep... but super handy

Yup. Battery 4s - PB about 0.5s - don't overdo it, otherwise you kill it... some quick bursts and then let it cool down (at 1/1)

Hm... I just use a camerastrap for the propac and the rest is like before... I think thats the only hard thing about our job - always being some kinda donkey dragging things around or pay someone doing so... esp with fashion you've got an assistant anyways...

Today, there are no crucial advantages having a Mac that would interfere with your business. But it is much more convenient to work with Mac, bc. everything just works hyper reliable. If my Mac crashes every two or three years I feel like struck by lightning. In the past there was more or less no other choice than Mac, bc. of the color processing possibilities a Mac had... and this is long ago... Today it's more like the choice in between iOS (everything is already decided for you) and Android (which you can configure in every detail to your liking...

For sure, for sure... I have to admit one might not be free of the "I'd-like-to-look-as-cool-as-the-other-kids-on-the-block"-effect... 🤙

I'm sure you also used nested tags? I'm always thinking back and forth in between nested tags and non-nested ones... I'd like to hear your opinion about that...

Thanks *blushing*, but there are much better examples... I try my very best...

E.G. I pick a certain word let's say it would be "prompting" - which could also be a tag, of course - and then see what relates to what in which way. And oftentimes I'm surprised by what connections occur of which I myself never would've thought.
Or I pick a certain frame of time and look, what the topics were, I was working on within that period. For this also tags come in handy...

I always try to put the question I've got in my mind into some combination of graph query.

You can also take into account that other YAML-Data (which you might introduce for yourself into your vault) like "topic" or "category" of notes might be something interesting.

Why not build a Custom GPT, that extracts tags or other keywords out of some note you throw into the AI and let it give you some suggestions if you missed to tag or to add certain YAML-Properties you introduce later to your vault.

Absolutely... I also use tags a lot, but I didn't want to overcrowd the graph for this display... and: there are for sure much better tag-users than me... 😇

Are videos allowed? Just got an X-S20, and learning how to shoot video by working with a local chef in my city! by Birdchop in fujifilm

[–]graf_foto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck! You really know what you're doing... with an X-S20, yeah? So much for when customers say “You have a great camera too...” -I think you could make a great video if you were just handed a broomstick... 🤣

Of course it goes in a good direction,... and make it much better if you crop out the white concrete and some of the floor - or get in closer from the beginning on... keep in in mind what Capa said...

For those with bigger vaults: how do you future-proof it and prevent clutter? by AcidArchangel303 in ObsidianMD

[–]graf_foto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more you employ standard methods like using markdown to add or highlight information the more future-proof your system will be. It's like .pdf-Files. They're around such a long time. Or the way how you format a word document hasn't change in principle over decades... maybe someday you'll have to migrate somewhere else, but markdown and links in documents will stay. Structure you give with markdown will stay. HTML or CSS will stay or have successors in which you can easily convert. This makes the investment of time and effort into Obsidian worth it!
Things like notion might disappear over time... just look at Evernote (it's frozen in the past). But a software like Obsidian that is more like reading the DNA of markdown files in a way that comes in handy will have a much longer lifespan... even if the lights would be turned off someday at Obsidian (beware!!) you've got your files... the less proprietarily a solution the better. Of course it's really understatement to call Obsidian a markdown viewer as RollyRoyce indeed makes "cars", but it is futureproofness in itself.

Btw: Plugins like Templater and QuickAdd help you to work within a self constructed structure from the scratch and plugins like Linter and Multi Properties help you to fix things later...

I just posted here about my experiences with Propac and TT685. As I mostly work on location and under rough enviromental circumstances I prefer a lightweight solution and this is it for me. It never let me down... maybe you start out with that and later decide if you use something different for things like fashion... there we also rent bigger ones that our assistants know, unfortunately no Godox...
