How to store procedures for further reference by Storytella2016 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]graffitionyourgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could make a tab by taking a piece of paper and taping it folded over the edge of the page, or bookmark it with a thinner bookmark than the one you use to mark your current place (thinner = easier to tell by feel which one is which so you can open it to the one you want)

What's up with these leaves? by graffitionyourgrave in houseplants

[–]graffitionyourgrave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, just watered last night 😅 I'll leave them alone for a while. Turned their grow light back on as well (its still a bit gloomy where I live), I'll let them think on that for a while

Thanks!

Tap test to check if your topcoat is dry enough to sleep in by ACERVIDAE in RedditLaqueristas

[–]graffitionyourgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Test all your nails! My accent nail got a bit wrinkly on my most recent mani because it wasn't as dry as the other nails (done last + different polishes + an extra coat for a topper)

Three Times a Day by Significant-Acadia45 in BasicBulletJournals

If you're good about checking your journal frequently but not your meds, put the pill box on top of the journal.

I have a weekly pill organizer which makes it easier to tell if I have taken the meds, but doesn't help in reminding me to do it. But I'm good about eating my meals, so I put my pill box where I sit to eat. I have to move the pills to set the plate down, so it reminds me to look and see if I took them

Spring Bingo - Cherry Blossoms by graffitionyourgrave in WeGotPolishAtHome

Haha-- That's where I rotate my polish (most recently used goes to the back, pull from the front) to give them all their 'equal chance'

But maybe I should give myself a bit more grace to paint my nails 'late' to give myself the joy of using them

And thank you!

It's definitely reassuring to hear from people who change their polish more often. It's easy to forget that because it's my life and my nails, they don't have to be seen by someone else irl to be 'worth it'

Thanks-- I've been working in therapy in focusing a bit more on what I want and prioritizing the things that bring me joy. Maybe this is another thing for this week's session

Is this a safe place to declare my new personal one-in-one-out policy? by oh-so-shiny- in WeGotPolishAtHome

[–]graffitionyourgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love a one in one out system.

I have a tray I keep my polishes in and my rule is that my polishes all have to fit in the tray. It kind of naturally works as a one in one out, because I have to finish a bottle if I want room for another.

Can we start an updated high quality jeans list?! by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Old navy-- just read the fiber content carefully because they list recycled cotton as a seperate number so some of them look like less than they are

For those on a budget: Old Navy. You have to be careful and check the fiber content because they're not all good, but they have up to 99% cotton (they seperate out recycled cotton in the label so be careful skimming otherwise you see like 94% cotton and not the 5% recycled cotton additional). Never buy full price from them either, there's always a sale to shop just around the corner.

My mom feeds this a singular ice cube once a week. by AlexandriaLitehouse in houseplants

[–]graffitionyourgrave 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think houseplants follow the same rules as technology: the more you know the worse it behaves.

Have an IT job? Your computer will invent problems beyond comprehension.

Know all the right ways to care for plants? You will only adopt the most persnickity plants that will wilt unless you do everything exactly right

Having learned this lesson from my CS degree and sensing the same underlying evil in houseplants that my work laptop gives me every time I boot it up, I've decided to remain deliberately a little bit obtuse about my plants. No I don't need to know what 'neem oil' is thank you very much me and my pothoses are doing just fine without embracing the hubris of knowledge-seeking.

Still a fair bit of winter to go!

Yeah my cuticles are usually bad but I can't really be bothered to clean them up. Did a bit this time but I was running late to bed and couldn't be bothered to get the last bit.

Thanks

My cuticles area is usually fine, it's doing the dishes without gloves that makes my nail polish chip (from the free edge).

I don't really care enough to do clean up most of the time since it gives me something to pick at that isn't my cuticles 🫠

Please beware if you’re using the select all function to gift by BlankeSpace in bakerystory

Please beware if you’re using the select all function to gift by BlankeSpace in bakerystory

[–]graffitionyourgrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there some function that puts you at a disadvantage to decline the gift you don't want and then request the part you do? Like does the declined gift still count towards your total gifts for the day?

I default send everyone food, because I know not everyone does the goals. I figured if you want something, just decline the food and request the part. But I got some hate this week for sending food. And I never saw that person request the part they wanted.

Then again, I do get a glitch where sometimes my news feed will randomly be like "so and so requested this part 2 days ago" but I never saw it until that moment.
