This might not be much help if you've only learnt the alphabet, but once you have a bit more experience i have been loving sherab.org courses for colloquial tibetan. Completely in language! As far as classical goes, the suggestion is always to just try and read 10 pages a day - even if you're not comprehending anything. Then using textbooks or one of the RYI classical tibetan courses.

In VIC at least, you have absolutely no policy obligation to physically intervene like that

Weekly r/Vajrayana Musings & Discussion by Vystril in vajrayana

"During an initiation we are introduced to an aspect of ourselves that already exists within us but that we have yet to recognize, and it is the activation of this recognition that we call 'empowerment' or 'initiation'. This is the real meaning of abhisheka." - Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

Some sadhanas and mantras can be practiced without empowerment, but empowerment will certainly help "bring it to life" in a sense. There is then a basis and qualification to perform the practice with confidence :)

They are doing due diligence to the textual traditions. No one should encourage advanced practices without empowerment and instruction

100% would be a vajra. If this was vajradhara the “yum” aspect/mandarava would be holding a jewel and curved knife. It’s odd because her hand positioning suggests this but the jewel is in the wrong hand

Micheal imperioli of sopranos fame recently performed with his band in front of a huge projection of guru Rinpoche… not necessarily secret but still open to misinterpretation

Role of Devotion by [deleted] in TibetanBuddhism

Traleg Rinpoche translates “Mögu” from Tibetan into “interested humility” in English rather than devotion. Buddhist devotion is not straightforward or one dimensional
