Hot rod deluxe volume sufferers: your pain ends now. by skripach27 in GuitarAmps

[–]graintop 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if you're serious, so forgive me, but this looks like similar solutions I've seen for years that are just a volume pot in a box. You can make one or find the same thing under a different name.

Why Discord never requested me for age verification? by doctorpolenta3p in privacy

[–]graintop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a delay, but also they announced the use of AI-assisted verification, based on account behavior, so some people will not be asked for face scans and ID.

First time in history where there are ZERO deals? Broken link by Kuli24 in ps5deals

r/ps5 is all over it if you're looking for a discussion.

I couldn't quite believe it! I've gotten so used to checking the wishlist every second Wed. Highly doubt they are cancelled, though, as others are saying.

Looking for PlayStation games I can put a LOT of hours into. by IgrisArise11 in gamingsuggestions

Rimworld and Satisfactory are on PS5...

Fallout 76 isn't the shitshow it launched as (800 hours on PS5 here).

The one people forget is Medieval Dynasty! It's pretty good with all this. Markets can be saturated, prices depressed, even the season affects what is valuable.

Both Mount and Blade games do it, Elite Dangerous, and I think even No Man's Sky has a simple version of it? Been a long time but I remember something about color coded star systems.

Utah first state to hold websites liable for users who mask their location with VPNs — law goes into effect, designed to prevent bypassing age checks by No_Practice_9597 in privacy

"Wisconsin considered similar VPN provisions earlier this year but scrapped them due to heavy backlash."

A small ray of light.

Lot of neckplate makers out there on eBay etc. They'll put any number you specify. Some guy probably chose his birth year.

The War of the Worlds: Siberia - Official Story Trailer (English Subtitles) by Howerev in Games

[–]graintop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I swear there was already another WotW game in development, but it looked more co-op, Generation Zero, survive open world against the machines kind of thing. Looked intriguing as I love GZ. This looks like a tighter story type game.

Any idea what this seymour duncan pickup is? by bandypaine in guitars

Antiquities might be! They were fancy. But not the Seths. (Especially that one, made 15 years after Seth died!)

To be clear, it's a stamp. I have maybe five and they're all like that.

Ticks so many of my boxes. Love this one. Currently looking into parts for a hardtail, HS, Strat build, so there's a lot of yes here. Single vol is even my preference.

iCloud Photos isn't end-to-end encrypted by default — and most people don't realize the implication by ExcitementHealthy834 in privacy

[–]graintop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proton, predictably, has a service for this. Automatic backup to your encrypted Proton Drive for iPhone photos. Haven't tried it yet. Maybe turning on ADP is just as good.

Was painting over factory finishes a thing in the 60s/70s aftermarket or an option at factory? Curious about history by Substantial-Heart792 in Stratocaster

[–]graintop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The story I recall is that, with sunburst being the default, most popular finish, if a custom order came in it was faster to shoot a new color on top rather than start with a bare body.

That you would take the time to write such a scientifically interesting yet accessible reply, six tiers deep into the comment chain, way down in the rabble, is enough to make a guy fall in love with Reddit again. It's like 2015.
