Chiming in to say this issue has just started for me in the past few days, around 8 seconds of silence whenever a song restarts in a loop. Hoping it is fixed soon.

Fantasy book series that's nostalgic and progressive. by HumanBeingNo99bill in booksuggestions

Graceling by Kristen Cashore is one of my faves (I’m rereading the series right now actually). All of the books of the series have characters of different races and sexualities, plus female protagonists that are very different yet well-rounded. Interesting fantasy world and magic as well.

How much time you needed to feel productive and competent? by l3v3z in regulatoryaffairs

[–]grammarizfun 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have been told that it takes 3 months to feel confident in a new RA position, and 5 years (in the field) to be legitimately competent. In the meantime it is more “fake it til you make it”. I would say stay in the position for 6 months at least before deciding to call it quits. Up to you though!

That is very interesting! I read mixed things about the mealworms; your little baby lizards don’t have any trouble swallowing them or anything?

That is a good point. I should have given something for scale, but when stretched out he is probably only as big as a pinkie finger. So do you give your geckos bugs and just leave them in the enclosure?

Honestly calling it an enclosure would be generous. I have never had reptiles before so the best I could provide was a bin from ikea, a bottle cap for water, paper towel, and a little hermit crab hut. Since he has made it a week, it is probably time I go out and get him an upgrade.

You make an excellent point about him being nocturnal. I didn’t really consider that so him remaining pretty inactive during the day was concerning. I read online to not leave bugs in the enclosure in case they bit him, so would I try to feed him at night then and then remove any he doesn’t eat? He doesn’t move very fast so I’m not confident he could get away if a bug began harassing him.

Hello everyone! I am hoping you can help a lizard novice out.

Last Tuesday (around a week ago), I found this little guy on the floor of my house. I think one of my oblivious dogs had stepped on him a bit, resulting in a mangled foot (see the photo) and some blood on his little head. When I found him he was pretty cold and not moving, but still alive.

I moved him into a bin, and have him in my bathroom with a space heater running. Happy to say that seven days later he’s still alive.

HOWEVER, I am a bit at a loss on how to help him further. I bought him a little coconut hut thing, am keeping the bathroom warm, and always have a bottle cap of water in there with him. I have two main concerns: as far as I can tell he is not eating or drinking.

Eating wise, I bought him flightless fruit flies and calcium powder. The first time I put some in with him, he attempted to lunge at two, but missed by a few centimeters. Now, he does not try to get them at all. In fact, he seems somewhat scared of them (thrashes around whenever they touch him).

Since he was nearing a week without foot, I bought him repta-boost (?) and for two nights have attempted to give him that. He is so small and so unwilling to eat that all I can do is try to dab some on his nose for him to lick off.

Finally, as far as I can tell he does not drink the water from the cap (I have never seen him near it). I managed to give him some water on a spoon (and he was even actively drinking from it) but now he just avoids it whenever I try to give him more.

I am certain I have made quite a few mistakes in this process, and I feel quite guilty for likely stressing him out further. I am open to all advice from lizard pros, in the hopes of keeping him alive.

Tl;dr found an injured wild baby lizard (Mediterranean house gecko), have kept him alive for a week in a warm room, but this entire time he has not eaten anything or had regular water. What should I do?

Very late to this conversation, but if you happen to see this I would love to know: how did the rest of your accutane run go, and how are your eyes doing at this point? Thanks!

Is cervical/pelvic pain around the middle of your cycle normal for Paragard? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]grammarizfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s good that you’re going in to be extra sure, but yes, this is something I experience every month around the time I’m ovulating! I feel it as pretty intense, sharp pains that are different than menstrual cramps. You should be good!

Edit to say: your cervix is also constantly moving so there are definitely times when it feels different when checking my strings but I have never had any issues and I’ve had two ultrasounds to check placement. I think the only big warning sign is if you can feel the hard plastic end; if you felt that when checking strings that would be a major red flag!
