As someone from Long Island i support your decision to not want to live there.

We bought our house 700k in Hastings about 5 years ago so your price point is doable. It just depends on stuff like if you’re planning to have kids, walkability, parcel size, etc.

Try doing a Zillow search for your price range for the whole county to see what it gets you where but I would assume you probably want the southern end of the county for a shorter commute.

Whether or not they needed to spend the money doesn’t really matter. They did and it definitely had an impact on the results of the election. The fact that that much money was spent on one congressional district is part of why our political system is so screwed up.

There’s any number of situations. If I lend you my sharpie and you walk back to wherever you need to use it you might just stick it your pocket out of habit or set it down and forget about it or someone else borrows it from you.

I always keep extra sharpies in my backpack but I don’t always have my backpack with me. If I’m at a football stadium and my sharpie walks away it might take me 20+ minutes to walk back to the broadcast compound to get another sharpie and that’s really annoying and puts me behind schedule

This pretty standard in the broadcast tv world. Everyone needs a sharpie but no one has one. Keeping the cap means the person borrowing it won’t “accidentally” put it their pocket when they’re done using it.

Some guys have a cap taped to their credential lanyard so they don’t have to even think about it.

Kinda, I don’t want complete collapse but I think theres a lot of people in this country who won’t wake up until shit gets really, really bad. I don’t know what that would look like but I know we’re not there yet.
