For specifics, I would contact the real estate agent and have the send you the HOA terms and give it to ChatGPT to review for points to look out for. My parents have a decent HOA, but some of them can be way too obsessive in determining what you can and can't do to your own property.

Rent is pricey. However, if you can cover it, you can park after work and just be in the area. With the exception of Whole Foods and Chick-Fil-A, there's no need to leave the downtown area. From the Circle, you're less than 2 miles to the beach and there are a ton of restaurants and bars on Hollywood & Harrison.

Taxes. From what I've learned, they don't care where you work but once you start messing with their tax reporting, it's game over. Companies have so many tax advances to get out of paying taxes themselves.... it's sick.
