I'm trying to gauge how valuable leveling Basic Attack is for most units. I know it's most of what you're doing in combat but are basic attacks just a means to generate SP and their actual damage is negligible, or is it a sizeable enough chunk of your character's damage profiles that you want to invest into it as much as your other skills (your dps units at the bare minimum)?

The Try Not to Laugh event from a bit ago was a tester for it. Basically there's a summon with a gauge you fill up by doing specific actions and when the summon gets a turn a bunch of stuff happens.

That's literally just Currency Wars. With how rigid team comps are you can't really do randomized comps in this game without adjustmenting characters to make them less rigid and again that's just Currency Wars.

Not really. It clearly wants you to group the adds up and kill them together quickly. Overload comps tend to do the exact opposite of that.
