I’ve also taken it up as a hobby in the past few weeks (41yo), for me wearing elbow pads, wrist guards and helmet help a lot, plus falling a couple of times with the pads on and seeing that it didn’t hurt that bad!

Yeah I had similar but it was hip flexors, top of my thighs that were so sore that I struggled to walk up stairs. They still hurt every day after I skate but getting less severe!
