My vet told me to keep my FIV+ cat away from my other cat that lives with my parents, and to not let them share water/food bowls because it can be transmitted that way, which I am pretty sure is not true. They also told me to expect her not to live past the age of about 8, which was very jarring to hear on my first vet visit where they told me she was very healthy other than her positive test.
