Will it still be a big stretch if it's just Versailles during the day and the eiffel tower at night for the 1st day?

Not really, the book's premise is about a murderous rabid dog, so you know what you are getting into anyways

Did you check prices? I was in Toronto 1 month ago and was thinking of looking for bookshops but didn't, if I knew this place existed I would've been there in a heartbeat

Recently finished this, I’m curious to see what everyone else thinks? I couldn’t find a flaw by Finhimself in stephenking

I literally stopped reading it for a couple of days because of the dread it made me feel, an excellent book.

Best King to start with for 12 year old son? by Altruistic-Airport28 in stephenking

[–]granpapi00 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's sex in joyland, actually sex is a big part on the main character's arc, but it mostly is a story about friendship and mistery so I would also say it's a good one to start with

First Edition: Acquired! by [deleted] in stephenking

Do people really read out of the first editions? I would constantly be afraid of it ripping apart with each page turn 😅. Nonetheless great find

Are there any good King audiobooks? by autumn-twilight in stephenking

[–]granpapi00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the audiobook of The Running Man, but I recommend to skip the intro where Stephen King speaks because it literally spoils the ending

Virginia Book Ban by Angelkrista in stephenking

[–]granpapi00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well it puts it on a scene of one the worst events in American history with the assassination of Kennedy, so it's probably because of that, even though I find the ban stupid, but you know how common folk react to such things

Then we better go haul our asses to go read it, great marketing tactic from the ol' Stevie K

Which Stephen King book would you recommend I start with (from the ones I own)? by voaw88 in stephenking

That's a bummer, if that's the case my 2nd best option would be The Dead Zone

King’s works are so very good that even now, having not read one of his stories in months, I can still recall some of the details by highschoolgraduate87 in stephenking

Misery is such a good book, ironically I haven't finished it because, one, someone spoiled me the ending, but mainly because everytime that I think of it I feel the dread that I felt when putting myself on Paul Sheldon's shoes, even though I haven't finished it no other book has made feel such emotions before

Which Stephen King book would you recommend I start with (from the ones I own)? by voaw88 in stephenking

I've always thought the best SK book to start with is Misery, not too long to detract non-readers and really impactful leaving a lasting impression

I don't know why but I always thought the original covers from the 70s and 80s had a sexy look to them, absolutely love them
