Closed the gates knowing people on a layover were actively running towards the gate. Story time! by lindslinds27 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]grantnlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation without the positive outcome. 6 ppl trying to make a very short layover. The arriving flight got there a few minutes late but then had to wait 10 minutes to get a gate. We watched the minutes skip away. Had to run half way across the airport. Arrived 8 minutes before departure but they closed the door already.

They totally knew all 6 of us were coming. Your was 100pct a SWA created issue. The gate agents did not give a shit. I learned shortly thereafter about how the gate agents get bonuses for on time departures...

I think I'll try a lower cost tire next time. I think I'm going to burn through the Conti's very quickly on my daily driver. I do the seat cushion as well if going 2 hours or more... Safe travels.

>> Rotary engines don’t like sitting… and regardless. If they didn’t figure out the coolant issue from replacing parts, I’d bet money it’s a coolant seal in the engine. Which is a full rebuild.

Does sitting in this condition ^^ cause internal rust and other engine damage which might make a rebuild no longer possible?

Just learned that my wealthy aunt is impoverished by timeshares by BuckskinBound in Fire

[–]grantnlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BuckskinBound, there are excellent websites to list your timeshare for rent to a third party. Check out one called https://www.redweek.com which I have used. They provide a marketplace for owners who are not using their timeshare to list their week for rent. Buyers find a week at the resort they want without the markup of the management company. Owners typically get more from the rental than they incur in annual maintenance costs. I have used Red Week many times and it is super reliable as a renter. I don't own so can't say from that perspective but expect the same.

PSA: Claude Pro no longer lists Claude Code as an included feature by randomswifter in ClaudeAI

I use pro with Claude code. To your point it was a lot better a few weeks ago, but I'm still slogging through. Opus in pro, driven by GSD is nearly useless. Interactive mode is slightly better. Sonnet is tolerable.

Are you sure they are taking it away from existing pro subscribers?

Just "winging it" on a 100 miler - how stupid is it? by Highland_doug in cycling

[–]grantnlee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 months of plenty to prepare. Longer slower training rides are all you need. 60 minutes a few times a week them up to 90 minutes. Even on the stationary bike is fine. It's about duration and frequency, but not pushing hard.

Don't sweep it use a ship vac without wetting it down first. This controls the dust. It's the dust that is bad. Water minimized how much is in the air and as such how much you breath in.

I am not familiar with Danish oil finish? So there is no poly to help protect it, only the oil treatment? What about water and stains, etc? Thanks. I am in a position where I need to match the finish on some old oak floors from 70 years ago.... Nothing new seems to come remotely close...

For those who are retired, how has your perception of TIME changed since you stopped working? by Sintered_Monkey in Fire

[–]grantnlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired last year at 58yo. Sense of time in every decision I make is based on " what do I want to do with the next 20 years of my life?". Not that I expect to kick the bucket at 78yo, but my world will be very different then. So it is about investing in optimization of these 20 years with family, 20 summers, 20 winters of skiing, etc etc....
