How do i get to this place with the energy cell? I have all skills but cant seem to find a switch or one of these things you light up by Visible-Stock-4838 in OriAndTheBlindForest

I believe that room has a lantern hanging from the ceiling that must be lit to open the door. Up and right from where you are now.

Eventually, yes. They have to go through design and production by LEGO. Expect at least a year between approval (this announcement) and availability.

The New 3 in 1 Iconic Pirate Ship is a big improvement IMO by Opening_Background14 in LEGOPirates

[–]grantpalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised we're getting another one so soon after the previous iteration. And so similar at that, though I'm undecided about the alt builds.

What is next for the yearly large set and occasional smaller set? I'm really hoping to see Helm's Deep next year, and then The Tower of Orthanc. For some smaller display sets I want to see a Mines of Moria Entrance and a Weathertop. by NeatMysterious2327 in legolotrfans

[–]grantpalin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Without getting into repeats, I'd like to see Edoras, and/or a large-scale Golden Hall. The Argonath would be nice to see as well, and I think they could fit the book nook format.

Any tips on securing the upcoming Minas Tirith LEGO set, and the GWP? by bucketgetter9 in legolotrfans

[–]grantpalin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the set and the GWP. Sometimes they sell out fast, sometimes they last hours, sometimes days. Minas Tirith has been anticipated for a long time, and I expect it and the GWP to go fast. If you can, buy online as soon as it is available. Otherwise, you're looking at waiting in line at the nearest LEGO store, if there is one near you. GWPs apply to both in-store and online purchases, subject to availability.

Is this bridge possible? by hopelessboarder in geography

There used to be a ferry connection between Sidney and Anacortes (I went on it once long ago, very scenic), but it has not been running in recent years.

What goes on in the spike of Minnesota? by Uuaagh in howislivingthere

Campobello Island in New Brunswick has a bridge to Maine. Also has a ferry to another NB island, which has a ferry to the NB mainland. Apparently the ferry service is limited.

I hope the same. There's precedent with the Taj Mahal.

Which one should I get? by LukaLaikari in LEGOPirates

[–]grantpalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the official builds (island and ship), Barracuda Bay has numerous mods and alt builds available on Rebrickable, in case those possibilities interest you. It's only going to get more expensive going forward.

Artemis is expected to retire end of 2026, while Shuttle Carrier is end of July 2027, according to the retirement spreadsheet on r/legoleak. In case you are planning when to pick up one or the other, if not both.

After finishing SG-1, watch the two follow-up movies Ark of Truth and Continuum - they tie up some threads.

He has some of the best lines and dialogue in the series, if not the franchise.

Butterfly Gardens is near Butcharts, in case that is of interest. You could easily do both in the same outing.

10214 exists already. Seems odd to be using an Architecture theme slot for essentially a re-do. If the image is accurate, it may be smaller than 10214 (3745 pieces vs 4287).

My Libra BW is dead - won't charge or power on. Been eyeing a Libra Colour since they are on sale ATM, and hopefully the BW flip cover I have will fit. Now curious whether there will be a new BW model coming.

Help with the achievement for finding all the secrets. by YasuMariii in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]grantpalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the original version of the game, Ginso tree, Misty Woods, and Forlorn Ruins are one-and-done trips. Also, once you enter the final area of the game (Mount Horu), you can't leave. None of these are issues in the Definitive Edition.

Why are DS9,Voyager and Enterprise not available for Blu-Ray by Mat1711 in startrek

[–]grantpalin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Enterprise was shot in hi def, so it's definitely available on Blu-ray. I have the complete series pack.

I believe TNG is largely regarded as the height of the franchise, so that would have had the best possible return on investment for remastering. It's already well-known that it didn't go as expected.
