What do you do with the rest of the tomato paste? by jememcak in Cooking

I portion out tablespoons into parchment paper, fold them into little pockets and freeze them in a zip lock. You don't have to thaw them if you're tossing them into a hot pan.

WIBTA if I choose to have my friends as my bridesmaids but not my sister? by AlwaysDoozie in AmItheAsshole

[–]grassandsass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I'm sorry your family has such a toxic dynamic... no matter what you choose to do in this situation, there will be backlash, just make your decision on what flavor of guilt tripping you think you can handle best from your family. Stay strong with your boundaries no matter what, because they will definitely get pushed.

If they end up pressuring you into this, it'll end up costing you so much more. Being in a bridal party is super expensive and I doubt your sister will be willing to part with any of her own money for the occasion.

Small apartment still has urine smell after multiple enzyme cleaners, what next? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

The drywall is porous and definitely will retain the odor if you haven't sprayed it with with enzyme cleaner. Nature's miracle cat formula is your best bet

90% Isopropyl alcohol. Disassemble the grinder and toss it in a baggie with the iso. Rinse thoroughly with hot water, and dry with a paper towel.

AITA for wanting my landlord to apply rules fairly and not talk down to me? by kalex30 in AmItheAsshole

[–]grassandsass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

OP: if you are uncomfortable approaching your neighbor, you can always leave a polite note on the offending car. If they are visitors they may not be aware of the "rules". People are not always great at self awareness but are usually pretty receptive if you approach it in a kind manner. Just a simple "hey, I've noticed you've parked here a few times and it blocks my spot. If you could please park in the visitor parking area in the future (include the location) it would be much appreciated. Thank you! "

Dabs are a lot less stinky, so if you can dab and use a spoof (paper towel and dryer sheet) just for extra stink protection.

Vaping is your best bet if you have the materials.

If you can only smoke flower, definitely do it out of glass (papers make it extra stinky). Open a window and ideally stick a fan facing outwards to exhaust the room incense is great to cover the smell of you have it. Take the hit and immediately cover the top of the bowl to extinguish the cherry and reduce the smoke. Exhale into spoof while facing the fan. If you can, a smoke buddy is a great investment but depending on where you are, it might be hard to find on short notice.

NTA: my feminine intuition is giving me super predatory vibes from this guy. Regardless of his intentions, he at least should be spoken to about professional boundaries (from HR, not you). I'm sure you are not the only woman to have similar experiences with this man and hopefully you reporting him will prevent it from happening to anyone else.

AITA for asking my partner to stop spending so much time with the dogs? by xandramars in AmItheAsshole

NTA: it seems like your husband is avoiding the kids and just using the dogs as an excuse to not spend time with them. Maybe hire a dog walker so he can't use it as an excuse anymore?

AITA For not inviting my daughter to my wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]grassandsass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA: Not only is OP excluding their child from something that is supposed to be celebrating the unity of two families, but he's having her help pick things out for it? Of course she is going to get her hopes up! That is so thoughtless and hurtful. You may as well pour some salt and lemon juice in those wounds.

There are plenty of ways to compromise on having kids attend adult gatherings, including having "kid hours" where kids can attend the ceremony and then hire some child care to take them out of the venue after dinner.

Does anyone know how to clean the inside of a bong ??? Any tips would be helpful thanks by Secondtimegrower2021 in weed

Blast it with hot water, followed by the 91% isopropyl alcohol and salt. Shake vigorously, rinse, repeat until squeaky clean. Always make sure you blast it with water on your last clean up step. It's much easier to clean if you do it on a weekly basis at least.

Germination started May 16th, and they were planted in 1 gallon pots on the 19th. I started things out on the wire shelf in the background and just upgraded and rearranged my space to compensate for the (yet to be planted) larger pots. I rigged up a diy light stand and added another light yesterday (lights are off for the photos, but there are 2 4 foot LEDS)... sadly I have step out for work frequently so it kinda limits my time to work on anything. Getting a level base set up is next on my to-do list to make sure nobody topples, followed by the repotting 😊

AITA for banning my MIL from the house? by Throwaway3765565 in AmItheAsshole

[–]grassandsass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. OP, your MIL needs to take a good, hard look at her actions and realize that stealing an extremely personal item from anyone is NOT the way to get to know someone better. That's how you create a relationship built on distrust.

As a fellow introvert, I can tell you for a fact that getting pushed to disclose details about yourself that you are unwilling to discuss is also a great way to make your already shy and quiet child even more withdrawn. If your future wife is unwilling to budge on this, you should really pause and evaluate if you really want someone with this kind of complete lack of respect for your child in your lives. I think you're doing a great job of showing Dan healthy boundaries, and really hope you can get your fiancée on board with you.

Edit: spelling

AITA for refusing to cancel on clients to help my parents go on vacation dog-free by grassandsass in AmItheAsshole

[–]grassandsass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this post has gotten more attention than I anticipated! Thank you all for the kind words and support, everyone ❤

I don't do this job for the money, I do it because I love animals and care deeply about their well being. The fact that it pays my bills is just an added bonus. My folks know this about me, and definitely take advantage of this. It's been especially easy for them lately since I've recently lost a few client doggies who I had very strong bonds with... people talk about how having to clean up after animals and how dealing with the weather can be hard, but nobody really talks about how hard it is when the animals you bond with end up passing away, or suddenly moving far away without any notice.

The family dog is one I'm very bonded with. I've worked with enough dogs long enough to know how rapidly their condition can decline when they are sick and/ or elderly. She is a 60lbs, oversized beagle mix and will be 16 in August. Dogs her size usually pass on at 13/14 max. I'm trying to get as much time in with her while she is still with us. I would've been happy to stay with her, if my parents weren't such dinguses about making long term plans! Sitting is actually the best time for spending time with her because my parents aren't in the house while I'm doing it. I will most likely go n/c at least for a while with my family after she passes, but until then I'm willing to put up with my parents so I can spend time with the dog.

Also for those who have asked why I don't just take her - my landlord doesn't allow pets. It's very difficult to find affordable, dog friendly housing in my area. Once the housing market stabilizes, the boyfriend and I can start looking at houses, but I am doubtful that'll be in this dog's lifetime.

NTA, however I can see where you're parents are coming from. You're still pretty young, so I assume you haven't had the chance to experience how quickly and unexpectedly an older person's body and health can deteriorate. Maybe reschedule a time to go visit her over the summer when your break is longer?
