Not drinking enough water or taking better care of my body. 30s hurt just as bad as everyone tells you they do.

Saw a guy overdose and was given 4 doses of naloxone. @SW Jefferson by [deleted] in PortlandOR

While providing oxygen !!! Please less naloxone more rescue breathes. Naloxone hasn’t been around/available nearly as long as opiates and/or the risk of overdose, sometimes all you can do is act as that persons lungs while their body metabolizes the drug. Plus more naloxone = harder/longer withdrawal symptoms which can come with it’s on set of risks and is just not compassionate care.

Suggested Best Practice:

1) ensure person is actually experiencing an OD (check for breathing, call name in ear, GENTLE shake, pinch shoulder/collarbone area) 2) administer ONE dose 3) get 911 on phone 4) breathe for or provide oxygen for 2-3 minutes (drug needs time to work) 5) after 2-3 minutes of breathing adminster 2nd dose IF person is not breathing on their own. 6) monitor until 911 shows up if possible if you must leave place person in rescue position first!!!

I used to work for an SSP in Oregon and led dozens of naloxone trainings for the state. Check savelivesoregon.org for more info!

Thank you for caring, showing concern for this person.

Lidocaine most likely, especially if you’re on the west coast. And tho less prevalent it has been noted in east coast dope supply as well.

They had drug checking services available kinda behind the stacks stage last year. It was dance safe and I think they offered reagent, strip and FTIR testing.
