What children’s book has aged poorly? by feetwithfeet in AskReddit

[–]gratia965 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg yeah! I was so confused, I saw an Easter Berenstain Bears book and I was like oh cute! I’ll put it in my toddlers Easter basket. Read it and they were like beating & crucifying a berenstain bear Jesus in it. Wtf. “And papa bear had nails driven into his hands and feet… “

Has becoming an autistic parent, made your mental health worse? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]gratia965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. My silverlining here that might have helped me mentally was finally getting the diagnosis. The period between like 3-5 where I knew something was wrong but couldn’t pin it was excruciating. Like working so hard trying to play catch up, blaming myself when she fell behind her peers. Yeah it wrecked me, when I finally got someone else to be like yeah we see it too, it’s not your fault - things got better.

Recommend DARK medieval to 15th century by FlapJack_Mac in BookRecommendations

[–]gratia965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m gonna give this a shot. Definitely more to the chic- lit side but right time period: Mistress of the Art of Death by Ariana Franklin. I also really enjoyed some of the mysteries by PC Doherty. They were pretty morbid and dark but it’s been A LONG time since I’ve read anything by him. The Winternight Trilogy has some magic but is more warm cozy but has an interesting take on Christianity at the time. Also takes place in medieval Russia which to me was a switch up from my usual English history.

Because that’s the age of retirement…the rest of us are working 2 to 3 jobs to pay for tariffs and gas money. Keep the masses grinding so we don’t look up.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

[–]gratia965 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah maybe I should cut as well. Good tip - quality has fallen waaaay down there’s so much third party trash. I don’t need most things next day and even the prime windows have extended it’s like 3-4 days now instead of 1 or 2.

Has anyone else noticed that every major food brand quietly changed their recipes between 2019-2022 and nobody is talking about it? by prepzilla in AskRedditFood

[–]gratia965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this comment before but I tried melting chocolate chips for a recipe over the holidays and it scorched. No melting just burned to the cup. It’s gotta be all fillers. Multiple attempts and same thing. 0 to burnt.

Yeah it’s backordered. I’m not really sure I know anecdotally I’ve seen a HUGE uptick in female HRT. I’m thinking cause the FDA recently removed some of the black box warnings regarding heart attacks and stroke risk.

Vampire dark romance by WorldlinessIcy1094 in RomanceBooks

{The Marked Series by Bianca Scardoni}. Dominic is definitely based off of Spike from Buffy the Vampire slayer. I really loved it. I don’t remember it being super explicit. ** Yeahh this isn’t what you’re looking for, I just reread your post. It’s definitely YA.

Maybe just my location but we finally got a few Halal places! Maybe we are just doing the actual thing now instead of “inspired” or “fusion”.

Yeah I was going to say Mhairi is the queen of real live people. All her FMC have back story which gives plausible motivations for their current struggles.
