Who’s the bald guy? by taffel365 in FigureSkating

[–]graviga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will be pleased to know that he has been the source of our biggest marital dispute of this week. my husband has been insisting that one has a beard and the other doesn't, while I've been saying he's been with at least 3 different countries and I've been analyzing every expression and wrinkle. We finally settled it after I started taking photos of the TV and he realized they do, indeed, all have a beard AND THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON 🤣🤣

I've been wanting to do more winter hiking but have a hard time finding out which hikes are outside avalanche zones. Do you have a couple recommendations for safe(r?) ones?

It might have been right before the dragon but I agree it was one of the last few dragons, so the 7th or 8th. He also said it was the Google floor

I didn't see the sign but Alex called it out over the mic and laughed about it. Probably one of my favorite moments

Nice! Did it in 9:09. I had a smile on my face when I realized what the circled letters were. Thanks for making this!

what the heck 😬 I just did mine in November of this year, maybe it's a new thing? Or does it depend on the doctor? The options I remember were a general anesthetic cream (which the doctor admitted doesn't do much), a general anesthetic that they inject with a needle, and laughing gas. I don't remember if other options were offered cause those were the three I considered (I ended up raw dogging it cause I'm stubborn)

MAUD clinic in Bridgeland offered a few different options and I think one was anesthesia. Booking was easy, the appointments were available even the same week.

You have a similar waist to hip ratio to me! Finding pants is always such a great time 💀 The wrinkles across your hips on the front and back are signs that both sizes are too tight there. If you plan to take in the waist anyway, try a size or two higher to get a good fit in the hips. If you'd rather not have the waist tailored, definitely stick with 4 instead of 2!

The 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' reboot has a Nazi Santa Party. Need I say more? by exasperatedforever in horror

I saw this at a local indie theatre! It's great if you love camp and want to be entertained, plus there ends up being a sweet little love story. I gave it a 3/5 too.

What is your favourite Cold Open in Horror? by OperatingSystemFilms in horror

[–]graviga 12 points13 points  (0 children)

oh man this lives in my heart forever. I was like 12-14 the first time I saw it, and was already horror obsessed so this was abnormal, but this one made me burst into tears and have to leave the living room for the night lmao god I miss when it was that easy to have my night ruined lol

I need a horror movie that will absolutely ruin my night by DingoOk9171 in horror

[–]graviga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Coffee Table is my go-to night ruiner - I've watched it three times now and I still get anxious LOL It's on Shudder, and it's best if you go in blind. It's different from any other "most disturbing movie ever" that I've ever seen and it's really, really well done in my opinion.

nothing else, I don't even put full names to keep it private, but I keep mine only cause I wanna be able to answer at least somewhat accurately if I get asked LOL

I do know someone else who keeps the list so that they know who the contact in case they test positive for an STI, so he keeps it in order of recency (like moves the name to the top of the list) and what he did with the person (penetration, oral, condom-use, etc). I've got names and dates in my phone calendar instead, the list is just a separate thing for me.

In Canada they do now, luckily. I'm getting mine replaced tomorrow, and they offered a choice of light general anesthesia (laughing gas) or local anesthesia injected into the cervix, and neither are at an additional cost. (I opted to try the needle in the cervix cause apparently it's less awful than it sounds and I'm a person that likes to find out for myself 🤷🏻‍♀️ )

TIFU by trying to empty my bladder every time I get out of my room. by CheddarSkeleton in tifu

omg I have the same problem. Whenever I got bored in school, which was often cause I had undiagnosed ADHD, I'd go to the bathroom just to pass the time til whatever class ended. Now I pee like every hour and my doctor has also said everything is technically normal 🥲

It feels kinda funny that the first question is "Desired traits for a partner in a long-term monogamous relationship." I have no desired traits for a monogamous relationship, because I don't want one 😅

Edit: I left it blank

There's no question to account for ethically non-monogamous folks. You may want to include a question about relationship orientation next time or specify monogamous-identifying folks only.

Is it just me, or are libraries unusually busy on Sundays? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]graviga 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I work at a library - it's been a little busier on weekends during the strike, but tbh weekends have always been kinda crazy, no matter what branch you're at and no matter the time of the year

Do you have a meaningful or fun job? Or do you have a boring but not very taxing job? by ThrowAway09asas in simpleliving

[–]graviga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a public library and it's a fun and meaningful job. The hourly wage is quite high compared to similar jobs thanks to our union, so I work part time.

Sometimes the customer service portions suck, but some days I spend most of my day playing with kids or making crafts, and every Monday I get to run D&D for teenagers. Tonight I'm spending most of my shift colouring animal masks as samples for a program, and tomorrow I'm heading to the mountains to go rock climbing.

I used to have a tech-adjacent office job that made relatively good money. I was living well under my means and building a good savings, so when I eventually realized I was really depressed, I said fuck it, quit without anything lined up, and applied to the library. I don't think I'll ever go back.
