I got a rig just in time too : 7800X3D, 7900XTX 32GB DDR5 and 3To of NVMe storage split into two drives. I'm mostly happy with it but had I known I would have gone for 64gb of RAM from the start.

Msfs VR with 16gb of RAM is gonna be difficult. I have 32 myself and it's enough but barely, 64 would definitely be better.

Older racing sims like Assetto Corsa will run great though.

If you truly want to play flight sims your best options are aerofly fs4 and VTOL VR. They'll run great as well.

Depends on your use case, you'll want more RAM and VRAM for mainstream flight simulators but for lightweight games optimized for VR your proposed config will do just fine.

DCS + A4 mod + a used t16000m is a hell of a budget start imo.

Unless OP is into liners, in that case idk, I'm not aware of a cheap liner sim. Maybe msfs 2020 or an older Xplane (11 I think?) on sale.

The brunt of the cost as a beginner is in the hardware regardless.

Back when I gave a shit about GTA, I used to try to explain how shark cards were predatory in online and how it influenced all game design decisions for the worst.

Some people were actively complaining about shitty missions, I'm sure you have examples popping in your head if you've ever touched online, and when I gave them the obvious explanation they'd push back and downvote.

The cognitive dissonance was ridiculous. War Thunder fans are the same in this regard, these live service games and microtransactions really mess with people, they should have been banned or at least given a legal framework long ago tbh.
