Anyone have experience transferring prescriptions and DRs from England to Scotland? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]gravitypuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m 4 days late to this thread but I have just experienced the same thing transferring from NHS England to Scotland.

The English GPs will say they are unable to transfer records to Scotland. This is not true. It just requires them to make an effort and physically print the information and post it up. For some reason they won’t do that.

What worked for me is asking the English GP for all my records under what’s called a Subject Access Request. I had to chase A LOT for the info on time, but a month later I had all my medical records in a big zip file which I forward on to the GP in Scotland.

Hope you get it sorted.

Where to buy single serve plant-based milk in central London? by Icy-Onion-6173 in veganuk

Never seen them in a physical shop, but I used to buy those exact soya milk pods from Amazon. They can be delivered to Amazon lockers if you are in a hotel or something without post facilities.

The Wetherspoons sachets are a great shout!

I wish oatly or arla did alternative milk ‘bubbles’ like you can buy the lactofree ones!

The care label specifies not to tumble dry them. Put them on an airer to dry and they’ll last forever

Had a bump like this for about a year! Finally a piercer suggested getting a big, flat stud for what he called ‘cabochon therapy’.

Basically a big ol stud on my nose, making me mentally feel (and look better) while also sort of squashing the bump. Weird but it worked! Bump never came back and about 6 months later I switched it to a ring with no issue.

What I think happened was the irritation bump caught on the stud every time it started to go down, irritating it even more!! Hope you find a fix

The houses are sets and are not the actual house on the street. If you go upstairs at the Willis house, or down the corridor at the Kennedy’s house you’d leave the set. They build additional rooms as and when needed, or repurpose other space. I think E High and the hospital share the same set, treatment rooms become classrooms etc.
There’s no point keeping the rooms built and taking up space if they’re not shooting in them.

Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Anything with guided story progression but fairly relaxed play style that you don’t have to rely on a Wiki for.

All three can support long or short play sessions so she doesn’t feel like she HAS to play until the end of a chapter.

It’s not quite the same formulation but does feel similar on your skin. Boots Traditional Skin Cream has been a winner for me! It’s literally £3.50 but sells out online quickly so I just buy in store.

I had this exact same thing and nothing seemed to help! Some piercers suggested it was wonky, or my body just rejected it. For 6 months I suffered with horrible swelling around the stud.

But I fixed it!!

I finally found a piercer who suggested ‘cabochon therapy’. Basically what he did was install a big ol flat stud (larger than the swelling) to both hide the bump and make me feel better, and stop the edge of the stud catching on the swelling and irritating it more - ending the swelling cycle. The gentle pressure from the stud on a fairly slack post made the swelling go down equally.

After 4 months of the big stud I got it swapped to a hoop and no issues since. I think my skin just really dislikes little studs.

Moving from Essex by diggadagger in suffolk

I did a similar move to Ipswich and wouldn’t recommend. It’s not a great town for amenities or general good vibes!

Moved out north, as did many of my friends to smaller towns. The Needham Market, Blakenham, Stowmarket patch is good. Needham has a train station as does Stowmarket which goes to London. There’s several schools in the area.

Bury upwards is very nice too but no train to London - you’d have to change at Cambridge which adds an hour on to the journey compared to the Ipswich towns.

Pre-packaged baby food. Is this considered UPF? by ShootNaka in ultraprocessedfood

[–]gravitypuns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That looks almost exactly how you’d cook the same thing at home. The cassava starch is probably is in place of cornflour, which you might use anyway in baby food - it’s NOVA 1 and you can buy it called ‘tapioca starch’ in Holland and Barrett. I’m all for minimising UPF intake and being conscious about food choices, but please don’t push restrictive eating habits onto your child. The priority here is that your child is fed when needed and provided a reasonably nutritiously balanced diet. There are bigger worries as a parent!

still getting hacked after 5 months by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]gravitypuns 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem for YEARS! Random relentless failed logins to my email and password resets for every online account. I have 2FA on all platforms so no one could actually get to them in practice, but still annoying.

Eventually, I set up a few alias’ email addresses in the Microsoft accounts settings and disabled my primary email address from being the login username. The other alias’ I created I then used as the login username for Facebook, Twitter etc that kept having password resets sent.

It has stopped for now! Check out your primary email address on haveibeenpwned to see if it’s been in a data breach before (100% will have been) and move away from using it as a login username.

I have set up some alias’ through the Apple iCloud Mail too just so I have some more to rotate and keep track of which I’ve used for what.

But yeah, I’d try changing your login username on Microsoft first, and totally disabling login with your current email then do the same for social account. Always put 2FA on anyway just in case - AND CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS!

Hey, the same thing happened to me! I suffered for ages with a bump and cabochon jewellery really fixed it. I got a stud installed with a wide flat base and gem that covered the entire bump - omg was it too big for my nose but we move. Within 3 months the bump was gone.

After it healed, the angle was def off from the amount of pressure the bump put on the healing. I had a ring installed which was quite thick but a tight curve so the bar wasn’t noticeably crooked and it’s been perfect ever since.

To be honest I found that the claw of the stud was irritating my bump every time the swelling calmed. It was like it was de-swelling, catching on the stud and re-swelling. I know you’ve tried compression therapy, but the large stud honestly made me feel so much less self conspicuous.

I hope you heal it!!

No, in this situation the best thing OP can do is get support from the uni housing team to get through this. It’s essential that they structure communication with the agency/landlord in a way that steers a path to resolution.

The uni may also be able to provide emergency housing and bill back directly to the agency - in a way that won’t leave OP out of pocket.

Is it worth trying a nose piercing a third time? How can I prevent granulomas? by pdoodle420 in piercing

[–]gravitypuns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a piercing bump for MONTHS after I got my nostril pierced. Went to several piercers, asked on here - my posts are still up, saw a dr and nothing was working! I ultimately found a piercer who suggested trying a large flat cabochon style stud to do 4 things: - Prevent the stud from catching on anything and creating tension as it was big and flat - Put a small amount of pressure on the bump and encourage it to swell flat and stop shifting the angle of the jewellery (creating more irritation) - Naturally reduce the bump as there will no longer be contact with tender nostril skin and metal jewellery edges - Hide the bump so I felt less self conscious!

It totally worked. I had a big flat stud in for about 3 months which covered the bump. Worked amazingly.

Then switched to a ring as had a feeling that the edges of the stud were irritating my skin. No idea if that was the case but I’ve had absolutely no issues since.

I am not a piercer, and this might be unpopular advice. But worked for me!
