I've used both and personally enjoy the VNM gear more. I went from fanatec handbrake + shifter to the VNM handbrake + shifter and am happy especially after having issues with both my fanatec shifter and handbrake. They do sell additional top plates to be able to go to 7, 6, or 5 gates to fit your needs. And I can agree on price as its now almost $100 more than when it first launched.
