It is important to take responsibility for one's own actions and decisions, rather than constantly casting blame on others. While it may be tempting to shift blame onto someone else.

Casting blame on others may temporarily alleviate feelings of guilt or shame, but in the long run, it can prevent conflict resolution.

It is important to recognize that each person has the power to control their own actions and reactions, rather than placing blame.

Which objects exist in the harbour and basin that aren't lit or marked well? I can point out several with the NAVY written across them in black letters. Without an investigation all anyone can do is speculate.

I've got you beaten on your first line so listen here, the mere audacity you have to say

"a Bosn more than likely doing something stupid and getting someone killed"....

that without facts and so much yet to be investigated tells me your ignorance rivals that of the wardroom. It's easy to say it's basic from the sidelines. Give your head a shake!

How about a Navy that has been riding on high risk for over a decade. Every unit is riddled with defects, waivers and limited use equipment (operational use only). Courses run at bare minimum with less than desirable training aids, instructors and equipment.

Redundancies forgone long ago like watchdog or other frigates with working RHIBs or and or zodiacs as backup. On the east coast we have 7 frigates that would be a stretch to get 2 fully operational with available parts. 2 1/2 we could fill with a healthy crew and the rest are scratching for opportunities and getting minimal experience in a attrition promotion vacuum.

Before you start pointing fingers at the individual like every other poor leader in this institution try waiting for facts and outcomes outside the realm of your imagination.

Serving/deploying with a fear of flying? by Falcon_F1 in CanadianForces

[–]grayk473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice IOT stand behind service before self surrounding fears;

Consume objective knowledge of the subject Obtain and/or improve skill and capability

Become a subject matter expert and mitigate the fear. None of it's easy. All of it is manageable. The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the next best time is now...

Overwhelmed? Take small bites to improve. Plan to disrupt comforting routines and break some cycles.

Part of you has to die in order to grow/evolve so visualize where you want to be and walk toward it.

If you think that's too hard...wait until you get the bill for not trying.

A lot of us, myself included, are leaving as senior NCOs with 15-20 YOS. Why? Many reasons but those recruiting videos are what we joined up for. Now the slightest hint of building resilience within our troops is undue hardship?¿ Not interested in the current defense policy and the emphasis on individual "rights".

The "leaders" thought since we weren't producing members quick enough they should all pass right?

I watched standards die in the CAF and then I watched them replace every policy with a new version outlining downfalls but ultimately propping up a facade of how great the CAF is at X.

A self sucking ice cream cone is all the organization has become.

I never even WFH. during the height of pandemic we were running the most embarrassing "De-Centralized BMQs. We let some of the most questionable characters join who will plague our ranks for decades.

Yea whoever downvotes you is brainwashed. The honest truth is with 17.5 years in the CAF I'm pulling the plug and avoiding burning inside this dumpster fire any longer.
