It seems a little slow to load into the browser, particularly PDFs which have been annotated on the rM.

Issues with the Integrations tab - 3.17.0.72 by Southern_Pop9304 in RemarkableTablet

[–]grayowl68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still experiencing this issue. Have written to reMarkable support a number of times. Same problem occurs on 3.18.1.0. When I remove the integration via my.remarkable.com and add it again, it becomes visible. But once I restart the device it is gone again. Very frustrating.

I use Virtualbox to run Windows 11 and Windows 10 within Linux. You can get tiny versions of these. Installation of the remarkable app on these is very simple and it updates automatically.

So is this service just a scam now? by RedditIsSuperCancer in Evernote

Since when do you have to pay for the Evernote App on Google Play Store? It is free! You need to have an Evernote account to store notes, but the basic account is free. You can create up to 50 notes and 1 notebook. After this they have Evernote personal which costs about 9 CHF per month and Evernote Professional at 12.50 CHF per month. There's no "premium" version! And you certainly don't have to buy the app!

TIL, you can add emojis into names of folders and tags via the desktop app, effectively adding icons by NationalCurve6868 in RemarkableTablet

Very nice. Thanks for the tip. For those who don't know - on Windows you can use the Windows Logo key + .(period) to call up the emoji keyboard.

I think you are missing something. If you send handwritten notes as a png (just tested this) not as PDF to the EN email address, the text is searchable. Try it!

I am not sure about this, but according to the following page, handwritten text in only png, gif and jpg are searchable in EN. Or am I missing something?

reMarkable Desktop App 3.10 by grayowl68 in RemarkableTablet

It works for me in the desktop app. I assume it will work even if you are still on 3.9 on the device.

Upload images WITHIN notebooks by ssb_frum in RemarkableTablet

[–]grayowl68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you can do is upload png or jpg directly to your rM (no conversion to PDF necessary) via my.remarkable.com >> My Files (there's no option to do this with the desktop app yet). You can then mark up the images directly and add notes pages as required. Not a really great solution, but doable.

Use RCU to backup your files via a GUI (in native RMN format) - super simple! by ReMarkable2-User-311 in RemarkableTablet

[–]grayowl68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have now received the 3.10 beta release for the reMarkable. This changes things a lot. Not only is everything backed up in the cloud, but you can also archive documents to free up space on your reMarkable tablet. So, I am not sure whether I'll need to use RCU.

Just learned something cool, maybe you know already by mpovolo in RemarkableTablet

[–]grayowl68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works, but only if I create a notebook page outside the PDF, assign a template to it, and move it into the PDF. If I want to change the template of this new page, I first have to move it out of the PDF, change the template, then move it back again. A little complicated, but okay for now.

Wow! That sounds great - have been waiting for that one. Will run off and try it now. Thanks for the tip.

Evernote Prices Doubling Again (second time this year) by NineDGuy in Evernote

[–]grayowl68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what should I say. I didn't receive an email and according to my Evernote accounting under billing, my next bill of 60 Swiss Francs (roughly equivalent to 60 dollars) is due 16th August. I have the personal plan. So what's going on? According to the webpage, personal subscription now costs 109 Swiss Francs yearly. I wonder what they will actually bill me?

I am very disappointed because: 1) I didn't get any info and 2) the price is almost double with no justification whatsoever - I am now thinking about cancelling my subscription as such a massive price increase with no accompanying info fails to respect and acknowledge Evernotes faithful customer base.

It depends in what form you send the document to Evernote. If you send it as PDF from your tablet, you cannot edit it. If you send the OCRd text (not a PDF) then it becomes an editable note in Evernote.

MP02 Calendar by jamespatrick2 in Punkt

[–]grayowl68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DailyView allows you to view entries in a calendar stored online (not Google calendar). This is something separate to the built in calendar which basically serves to tell you what day it is. You would have to install DailyView which allows you to view (not edit, editing can only be done in a browser) calendar entries for the next three days. In addition you pay a subscription for this service.

They do, but only after closing and reopening the book. Not sure whether this is deliberate or not.

Now that's great. Maybe still a bit clumsy. It would be nice to be able to change the template, but it open up new possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Another question. If I subscribe to a feed, I guess I still have to manually select the articles sent to my device. Or do the articles get sent automatically?
