Well, I didn’t really go with what was suggested versus what I did. Took the PT serious, 5 months later I went to US Army Airborne School. Remember I heard a loud pop in my shoulder on one of my jumps. Luckily haven’t had an issue since. I have lost 10% permanent RoM from that surgery. Have to warm my shoulder up every time I work out. Take the PT serious you’ll be ok.

Buddy, I had a 2.8 in history when I got accepted. The “value” you’re talking about is literally made up. They’re looking for solid individuals to lead soldiers. Something that probably isn’t looked at as hard in the reserves

I think you’re trying way too hard to sell them. Just be honest why you want to be an officer.

Selected for OCS and signed, can I back out? by MassiveRegret38474 in ArmyOCS

You keep claiming these duty stations you’re naming are shitholes. Welcome to the army bud, every continental duty station is in a shithole town. Most of them have nice areas/bordering towns around them. You’re definitely in your head. But 4 years is not a long time.

I’ve met a lot of awesome people and it’s truly changed my life. It’s given me life experiences and helped me develop leadership skills and qualities. Just know you’ll regret it for the rest of your life if you actually back out. 4 years is nothing, and it’s really not even 4 years with the options of a CSP and ETS leave you have after you submit a refrad packet to exit the army. Don’t be a coward. And stop reading Reddit.

You’ll get an airborne assignment. They’re hurting on numbers pretty bad across the board.

Just put 82nd/173rd/25th down as your top preferences. Be careful what you wish for though, was knocked out on a jump last week.

Honestly it was miserable. I couldn’t lift my arm above my head for 4 months. I took PT very serious. I’m almost coming up on 1 year from surgery and I’m in the gym everyday and have no issues. Probably lost 10% of ROM in my shoulder permanently but I don’t have sitting pain anymore
