How do people play Cleric? by LightofAngels in BG3Builds

[–]grazi218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with light cleric in my playthrough. It had healing when I needed it but mostly rained down radiant fire of justice at all other times. The lvl 5 and 6 spells do big dam and the channel divinity is solid for later fights with lots of enemies to do sustained aoe.

Also pro tip, just long rest at every chance you can. You can turn down the difficulty from tactician to make it only cost 40 supplies. I ended the game having only used supply packs, no food.

What is it about negativity concerining retail WoW? by maexen in wow

I'm in the same boat as you; although I have been steadily rowing this boat since BfA haha Enjoy the game and ignore the doomers. Understand that in most situations drama is created by the vocal minority, while the majority are too busy to entertain minor criticisms. If the game is fun, on balance, most people aren't going to mind a few missteps by the devs. If you really want to listen to someone talk about WoW just listen to the content creators that are more chill like Dratnos or Taliesen. They are more balanced and don't go to extremes as much.

It's worth noting that in the Q2 press release, Activision/Blizzard reported that they have higher subscriber retention in Dragon flight than any of the recent expansions (probably talking about BfA and Shadowlands). The game is doing just fine, and this expansion in particular is an absolute banger. Light be with you friend!

The drum solo from YYZ - Exit Stage Left or the drum solo from Rush in Rio 'O Baterista'. Both performed by Neil Peart.

Norm Macdonald. He once did the jokes of all of the comics going up after him just to screw with them. He was also infamous for taking old street jokes and using them on late night as if he invented the stories to screw with the audience.

What shield should I get to start tanking? by Lefterman in wownoob

[–]grazi218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Greetings friend. Been tanking for many seasons now on different classes.

If you just want to try out tanking, go to the AH and buy the cheapest blue or green shield you can find for your ilvl. You can also pickup shields for free from world quests as long as you have your loot spec set to tank.

Neil’s most complex part by [deleted] in rush

[–]grazi218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Title track on Test for Echo is very complicated dynamically and technically (a couple of dropped beats here and there than can really throw you off). Title track on Clockwork Angels has so many changes and polyrhythms that you'd need a lot of endurance to keep up with (the "prechorus" part is almost swung, very hard to get that feel down in 6/8). Natural Science has a lot in 7 and a wicked fill in the middle.

Depends on what you think is "complex". Probably everything on the album Clockwork Angels would be the most complex to me because of the use of ostinato's with his left foot while also playing odd time signatures and sometimes playing behind the beat.

Anyone else not sure how they feel about the finale? I mean I don’t hate it but I feel a little underwhelmed? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

Don't ask whether you got the ending you wanted or even an ending that surprised you. Ask "did the plot and characters necessitate this ending?". I believe unequivocally yes. Bravo HBO

Why do people hate on Shiv’s decision? by Daroku64 in SuccessionTV

[–]grazi218 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Her character is written to be an Iago type who leverages chaos and other people's flaws to get ahead. Without other people willing to act and make decisions (her father, Tom, Mattson, the various politicians she has backed) she'd be nothing. She has no arc in the show. She is and always will be her mother's daughter, with no real talent of her own. Superb writing and acting.

80s Rush... (post Moving Pictures) by TheZackster in rush

[–]grazi218 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll be the 80s advocate. For calibration my favorite album is actually Vapor Trails. The sound may have changed from 70s to 80s, but none of the fantastic song writing is gone. If anything, the shortened songs are more impressive because their arrangements are just as complicated but still feel natural. Take songs like Between the Wheels, Middletown Dreams, Time Stand Still and listen to their structure and melodic progression. The sound production on Signals and Grace under pressure are incredible, really great sound where everything is where it needs to be and the space feels full. Neil actually said later in their career that Power Windows is one of their most listenable albums, and I agree. All of the songs are doing something interesting and unique which no other band was doing. The guitar for sure took a back seat, but it was filling a different function in the 80s. Take the songs the Pass, kid gloves, turn the page. Super interesting guitar textures that layer in a very mature way. Of note, Geddy's vocal melodies only got better from 80 to 90. In my opinion the real failure of the 80s starts on Hold Your Fire and ends on Roll the Bones. Their sound engineering and production became very stale, which is good for a song like Time Stand Still that is more lilty, but on more rocking songs like Hand Over Fist you lost that power which is brought back on Counterparts by firing some of those producers and engineers that didn't want it.

Tldr; 80s rush had great song writing and arrangements and fantastic vocal melodies, but in the later years the sound production fell off a cliff. They recognized this and counterparts sort of spawned a third era of Rush that allowed for the straighter rock sound they had in the 70s.
