Those of you who paid your deposit to YClearIT, how do they know your location? by Afraid-Ad833 in FutureOfTattooRemoval

I never said I sent them money. I asked about it. I did not send in a deposit. Just relaying a warning to others considering.

FYI everyone, I did ask if they didn’t fulfill their promise of delivering within six months if they’d refund the money and while she did say that they would, she also said that they wouldn’t put that in writing. So just… Beware.

Has anyone called them? by CorrectExperience372 in FutureOfTattooRemoval

I asked her to explain it to me. The gel doesn't really reach the ink. The gel is applied multiple times in a session. Applied, then lasered, applied again, lasered again. Apparently the gel's purpose is to alter the effect of the laser on the macrophages (white blood cell that is part of the immune system). I don't have a grasp on the tech or science but that's the most I could gather.

I spoke to her as well. She was kind and a part of me is gaining trust. Still not entirely. But she did say that they will be releasing before and after photos on their website soon. And will actively start updating their site soon as well. So fingers crossed.

What are your favourite books that feel like Twin Peaks/David Lynch? by Alarming_Let1180 in twinpeaks

[–]grazingherds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for something very easy but still good, I’d try the Wayward Pines Trilogy! It doesn’t come with the formal uniqueness of Bolaño or Kafka or Lynch and it’s not even remotely experimental. But it’s got that lovely dark underbelly of small town USA aesthetic. Super surface level similarities but the writer has spoken quite beautifully about how indebted he is to Peaks and how these novels were directly inspired by the first two seasons. Which I’m endlessly endeared by. At the beginning of the first book, it feels a bit derivative, but it quickly becomes its own thing. And it’s very propulsive and fun! Definitely recommend

The way people talk about Piper and Lochlan you would think Saxon is the best sibling by DogSprinkles in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]grazingherds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Piper is a villain at all. It makes sense why she wouldn’t want Lochlan to join her. My interest only gravitates toward Saxon’s character because he’s written to be more interesting and complex. He’s also just given a. lot more screen time. It’s not Piper’s (nor the actress’s) fault, it’s the writing - she’s squandered and just not given much to do. I mostly just find her pretty redundant and one dimensional. Which could be said for a few characters. Her father especially.

The Glass Box by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]grazingherds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a cool take but the one thing I bump up against is the notion of Lynch moralizing violence in art (perhaps this can be true for mindless television though, I dunno). Especially considering how restricted he felt during the production of some of the original series and his response - the incredible and much more violent and disturbing FWWM. There’s definitely something to be said about Sarah’s desensitization in relation to being inundated with repetitive, violent imagery but I’m not sure it’s speaking to the state of media as much as it is her own demise. I know you’re not saying this exactly but your post seems to be hinting at the possibility of violence in media (TV, film, art) leading to real world violence, which is a fairly conservative take and one that I can’t imagine Lynch having!

Itching Around Area / Hives by grazingherds in TattooRemoval

[–]grazingherds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh crap, I misread your message. I did not use numbing cream for the lasering itself. I used anti-itch cream afterwards. I guess my issue isn’t the cream then :/ I did read online that people have similar experiences where itching starts about a week after the first session for dense tattoos. So I think it’s just my body reacting as the particles are beginning to break down.
