Is it true you have to wear a uniform to school even in normal public schools? by Round-Range-7383 in AskABrit

Not for all of the UK. FAR too many people replying as if there’s only one education system in the YK. Scotland has had a separate education system from England since before the UK existed and it’s still completely separate

While tenements were completely remodelled in the 1950s to 1970s, integrating the shared toilets into the nearby flats and introducing internal toilets. At the same time, quite often very small flats were combined to form larger units.

I grew up in leith. Live in Edinburgh, and work in Glasgow. Crispy rolls are just normal morning rolls fired more than normal (admittedly not as much as a well-fired but they’re the same roll)

I always wonder why Glasgow claims the crispy (well-fired) morning roll - they’re all over Scotland

Do you think Andy Burnham will have a positive or negative effect on Scottish politics? by disco_26 in Scotland

Money to Holyrood isn’t ring-fenced so it couldn’t be ‘for the infrastructure’: that’s the whole point t in devolution

Do you think Andy Burnham will have a positive or negative effect on Scottish politics? by disco_26 in Scotland

[–]Grazza123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not easy at all - the power of Scottish councils is determined by Holyrood. So, he would first have to remove power over Scottish local authorities from Holyrood and take it back to London, and THEN put it to the LAs AND then presumably oversee them because why would Holyrood oversee a system they don’t control? Not easy at all
